Chapter 25

I slowly opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling. My vision was blurry and I felt a little bit dizzy. My heart was racing faster than the usual. Bead of sweats were dripping out from my body. I was trembling hardly.

“Ah, fuck…”

“You’re so beautiful, Sunshine…” someone whispered near my ear as its callous hand found its way to my naked breast and gave it a painful squeeze.

Walang lakas na umiyak ako. I felt so disgusted and dirty.

Things were still blurry to me.

Nanginginig akong gumapang papalapit doon. Hindi ko sila makilala. There was a knife stabbed in the man’s chest. Lumapit ako roon at hinawakan ang kutsilyo.

I suddenly gasped and my eyes widened when I recognized his face.

But she remained sleeping.

I clutched my chest and shook my head as tears started to build up in the corner of my eyes. Napaatras ako. “‘M-ma…” I whispered weakly.

I tried to lift my hand up but I couldn’t move my muscles all of a sudden. I panicked and tried to move again but no avail. It seemed like I was trapped in an invisible cell without oxygen in it. I was panting so hard, trying to catch my breath.

No! Please, Mama! Mama!

My heart was tugging so loud I could hear it literally.

“Hey, wake up…” Someone tapped my cheek which made me open my eyes. I parted my lips to catch my own breath.

White painted walls, syringe smell, and a familiar face welcomed me. Isha worriedly wiped my tears on my cheek. “Shh… it’s okay, Sunshine. It’s okay.”

Napahikbi ako at umiling. “M-mama…” I called.

“It’s okay, Sunshine. It’s okay. Ate is here, hmm? Ate is here…” She kissed my forehead. “Kuya, can you call the doctor, please?” malumanay niyang sabi.

“Okay.” Travis quietly left the room and closed the door.

Bumaling ako kay Isha. Why am I here?

It was as if she understood my questioning stare, she smiled sadly. “We rushed you here at the hospital.

“W-what happened to my b-baby?” I asked, stammering. She looked away.

“Isha! Anong nangyari sa anak ko?!” I hissed. Kumalabog nang malakas ang dibdib ko. Still, she didn’t answer me.
