Chapter 13

Pumunta kami ni Sinon sa isang snacks in. We were comfortably chit-chatting over a cup of tea. Sometimes, I wanted to punch his face because of the boastful aura he has around him. But somehow, I find it cute to the point I wanted to throw him out of this room. I don’t know what to do about his self-bragging personality. However, this conversation was also getting me entertained and made me forget the thought that my man is being with another girl.

“…And yep, nag-e-endorse pa rin ako ‘til now. Ang agency kasi ay hirap akong pakawalan. They treat me like a fancy, rare gem. Ganiyan talaga ‘pag exotic ang itsura, eh,” aniya sa kalmadong boses.

I rolled my eyes for the hundredth time. Palihim akong umingos at umirap ulit. “Ah, talaga ba?” walang ganang tugon ko. I don’t wanna make him feel bad, baka iwanan niya ako rito.

“Yes, of course.” He grinned. “You know what, Sunshine? You’re beautiful. You’re tall, skinny, and has a flawless skin and an angelic face. If you’re interested into modeling, I can recommend you to our company’s agency.” He gazed at me from head to toe. There’s nothing malicious by the way he looked at me kaya hindi naman ako nailang.

“I’m not into that thing, Sinon. I hate attention,” I casually answered. “Besides, that could be somehow a distraction from studying. For a person who’s a sucker for higher grades, modeling is the least thing she would think of. That’s a plain hindrance for my studies.”

He grimaced and made a disbelieved face. “You’re really a nerd-like girl. Kulang na lang, makapal na eyeglasses diyan sa mga mata mo para sabihing nerd ka nga. That life is one of a hell boring!” He said the last sentence with conviction.

Napairap ako. “You are being exaggerated, Sin. Hindi lang naman sa libro at studies umiikot ang mundo ko, ‘no? That wasn’t a word for word phrase. What I mean is that, kung mag-mo-model ako, hindi lang oras ang mawawala sa akin, pati na rin ang privacy ko. Not that dudumugin talaga ako ng mga tao at may malalaman talaga silang information. But do you know what I mean? It’s possible. As much as possible, I wanted to be a low-key person.”

Napatango siya sa sinabi ko. “Well, sort of, you’re right. There were a lot of rules you need to obey if you are into it. You need to uphold things: career or not?” he simply said.

I shrugged my shoulders, then took a spoonful of cake and had a taste on it. “By the way, ano pala ginagawa mo sa garden kanina? May importante—Oh, my!” Napatigil ako at napatakip sa bibig.

His brows creased. “Why?”

“M-May dapat ka bang puntahan sana ro’n? Or you have something to do? Oh, my gosh. I remembered myself pulling you out of that place,” nag-pa-panic kong saad.

He was oblivious about our surroundings that people were already glaring at our direction.

I was about to complain about his behaviour when a sweet, womanly voice spoke behind me. “Fourth?”

My brows knitted when I saw Sinon’s body stiffened. And in an instant, the jolly and sunny bright side around him vanished in the blink of an eye. “What are you doing here? Akala ko ba, umuwi ka na?” The familiar voice was lingering in my head, pilit kong inaalala kung kanino ito.
