Amelia groaned as she heard the most horrible sound on the planet, her alarm clock telling her to get up for school on a Monday. She rolled out of her bed and looked for something to wear. Most of her clothes were sprawled around her room. Amelia picked up a pair of jeans and tossed them on her bed. She opened her closet to grab a shirt. She pulled a purple long sleeve shirt that said 'I hate Mondays'. She brushed her short brown hair and put a small white rose hair clip in her hair to keep her hair out of her eyes.

Amelia blinked as the trap door opened letting bright light in. "Are you getting ready?" Matt called down.

"Yes! Did you make breakfast?" She asked hopefully.

"No I didn't!" He called down, shutting the door. Amelia grabbed her phone and stuffed it in her purse. She grabbed a pair of socks and her black boots and climbed up the ladder. She climbed up to the house on top to get breakfast.

Amelia grabbed the cup of coffee Matt made for her and made a piece of toast with butter and honey on it. "The bus is almost here." Uncle Matt yelled from the shop. She flew down the stairs, putting on her socks and shoes. She slipped her purse on and grabbed her backpack.

"Got your homework?" He asked as she picked up her coffee.

"Yes, I love you." Amelia said walking to the bus. The doors opened and climbed on, she was one of the last ones on. Amelia found an empty seat in the fifth row. She sat down and the bus moved on.

"Hey look Zack, it's Mealworm!" Amelia cringed as she heard that voice. It was Steve, the second most popular person at her school. His father donated a lot of money to the school so he got away with everything. He made it his life goal to make her life as bad as he could. Or at least that's how it felt to her.

"What was that?" Asked Jacob. He was the most popular guy at school and on the football team. He was nice to Amelia, why she and everyone never understood. She was picked on or ignored by everyone at the school.

"I can talk for myself." Amelia mumbled to him. She turned around to face Steve and his flying monkey, Zack and said loudly

"In cace you havent relized it out from the five years of you calling me that, it is a stupid insullt. It's more insulting to you than me." She knew she got them, if they didn't ask her what she meant the whole school would be buzzing about them being cowards.

"How is that insulting us?" Zack asked her.

"It is insulting to your intelligence that the best thing you got is making fun of my name. Very clever job on that." Everyone on the bus was now listening to them. Amelia normally was a coward, so this was very out of place for her. She had a dream that freaked her out the night before so that put her in a strange mood.

"Look at that. The mouse has a spine after all!" Called out a girl. More kids called out ooh at her comment. Amelia's bravery was starting to fade.

Steve knelt on his seat and leaned closer to Amelia as he was stinging in the row behind her. "You better say you're sorry or I will make you very sorry." He whispered, his lips almost touching her ear.

Amelia tried not to squirm. "Never." She told him as the bus stopped at their school. She shouldered her backpack and walked fast into the school.

"Hey Amelia! Wait up!" Jacob called, running after her.

"Hi," She told him as he started walking next to her. Amelia saw people looking at them and whispering. "You know you don't have to walk with me. I know you have all your popular people to hang out with."

He gave her a confused look. "Is that your way of saying you want me to leave you alone? I understand, here I am just trying to be nice and defend you and be your friend." She felt bad about yelling at him
