Amelia rolled her eyes as she walked in back and scraped the food off a plate into the trash. "Tom sneezed all over Leroy's food again." she explained to Granny.

"I swear that boy is going to be the death of this place." Granny grumbled as she put a lasagna in the oven.

Nodding Amelia told her, "Ruby just got here so it's her turn to deal with them now. See ya later." she slipped off her apron and grabbed her jacket, and walked outside back to the shop.

"Hey wait up!" someone called from behind her. Amelia turned around and saw Jacob running after her.

"Hey you." she told him once he caught up with her. She missed seeing him so much as they had both been so busy lately they hadn't talked in a while.

Jacob played with a strand of her hair as he said, "What are your plans for today? I feel like we haven't hung out in forever."

"I would love two. How about I get changed and meet you somewhere? What did you have in mind for tonight?"

He held out his hand and she grabbed it as they started walking to the shop. "Well, I was thinking maybe we could go to my place, have some food and maybe watch a movie, see how much my family loves you?"

Amelia blinked a few times before she said, "You want me to meet your parents?"

"Well, yeah," he told her before he saw the worry on her face. "Hey, it's ok, no need to be worried about it Lia. I have told everyone so much about you. Please?" He made a very cute pouty face and she sighed.

"Stupid cute face of yours. Yes, I'll meet them. I am excited to meet them, really, it's just-"

"Scary? Don't worry it's not like your first meeting them will be after I told them there was nothing between us and then they saw us kissing or anything, now that would be scary." Jacob laughed as he walked her to the front of the shop. "Can you come over in like, an hour?"

"Sounds good, what should I wear? Should I bring something with me?" Amelia asked him quickly.

Jacob kissed her cheek and said "Just bring you. See you later."

She watched as he walked towards his house for a moment before she walked inside the shop. "Ah, there you are. Are you ready to head out?" Matt asked from behind the counter.

"Crap," she mumbled to herself, completely forgetting she was supposed to go out with Matt. "I'm sorry, I forgot and Jacob invited me over for dinner to meet his family. Can I join you after?"

Matt raised an eyebrow, "He wants you to meet his family, interesting."

Amelia walked behind the counter. "I gotta get ready. I am heading over at five. Pick me up at seven thirty if I'm not back by then and we can go together?"

Giving her a smile that was slightly too tight he nodded. "Sounds like a plan, Dearie. Text me his address." with that he grabbed his cane and walked out the door, flipping the open sign on his way out.

Quickly she took a shower and dried her hair. Flipping through her clothes she looked for something nice to wear. Eventually, Amelia grabbed a red dress that went to her elbows and ended a bit below her knees. She put on some tights and a pair of black flats. She would have rather put on leggings underneath but she wanted to look nice.

Ring! Ring! She picked up her phone and responded "Hello?"

"Hey, Lia. I sort of stupidly realized I haven't told you much about my family so I thought I should let you know what you're getting into tonight."

"Well that would be nice," she told him looking around for a pair of earrings. "I am trying to make a good first impression, I don't want to mess up or look like a disaster or dumb not knowing anything about them." she did know his mother was a very fashionable lady with high expectations for her son.
