Chapter 52: Fight for What's Right

Hope woke up to the house shaking. Instantly she was up and had her sword and knife in hand with her bow on her back. She had just gone to sleep after sneaking back inside thanks to some well-placed vines growing up to her balcony.

As soon as the shaking started it stopped leaving Hope thoroughly confused. Quickly she magically had on the first clothes she thought of. It happened to be a pair of jeans, a light pink shirt that went down to her elbows, and a green jacket over the top that fell to her knees. She slipped on socks, her brown boots and threw her hair in a braid. Hope walked downstairs to find no one was home. "Hello!" She called to double-check. Hope appeared at the shop, hoping to find answers.

"What are you doing here? You should be asleep." He asked her as soon as she appeared.

"I was asleep but then the house was shaking and no one was home. So I came here hoping to find you. What is going on?" Hope asked him as she summoned a cup of coffee. I have a feeling this is going to be a late night. Good thing I had a nap today.

Rumple walked over to her and calmly told her, "It was just a small earthquake. No reason to worry. Just head back to the house."

A loud roaring sound from down the street made Hope roll her eyes at him. "Real answer quick." She pulled out her sword and walked to the door. "What am I fighting?"

"You are fighting nothing. The Wraith will only go after the one who is marked. It will hunt the Queen and no one else will be harmed unless it's provoked." Rumple told her standing in front of the door.

"A Wraith! What is wrong with you?" Hope yelled, wanting to shake him. Even if magical creatures were uncommon in Neverland, Peter still made Hope learn all about them. In the blink of an eye, Hope appeared outside the Sheriff's station.

She put her sword away and ran inside to see Mary Margaret using a match and a spray can to shoot fire at the Wraith making it fly out the window. She ran past David, Emma, and Mary Margaret to help Regina up. "Are you alright?" She asked, surprising everyone that Mr. Gold's niece was there.

"What the hell was that thing?" Emma asked as she ran over to Regina.

"A Wraith." Regina practically snarled as she grabbed one of the cell bars gasping for air.

"It's a soul sucker." Hope explained to everyone. Basically, it's a real-life dementor.

Mary Margaret looked out the window that it broke. "Did I-"

"Kill it?" Regina interrupted. "No. It's regenerating. It'll be back. It doesn't stop until it devours its prey. Me." She whispered the last word as she showed everyone the mark on her hand.

Emma shook her head and asked, "So, how do we kill it?"

"There's no way. You can't kill something that's already dead." Regina told them.

"Then we have a problem." Emma told her family.

"No we don't," David replied. "Regina dose." Everyone turned to him in shock.

"What? I think I misheard you." Hope told him while she walked up to him. "I thought you said that the Wraith was Regina's problem. That of course would be ridiculous. I know you guys are heroes, well used to be in your case, clearly. Heroes don't leave people to fight alone."

"You wanna let her die?" Emma asked her father.

"Why not? Then it goes away. Then we're safe."

With an ice-cold glare Regina fired back, "It's quite the example your setting for your daughter there."

"No. You don't get to judge us!" David told Regina storming up to her.

"Let me ask you something, where do you think that thing came from?" Regina asked the group.
