Hope smiled as she heard that annoying but familiar sound, her alarm clock telling her to wake up from school on a Monday morning. She jumped out of her bed and picked up the outfit she laid out the night before when she couldn't sleep. Whether it was excitement to get back to choir and art, or nervous to see all the kids at her school who made her life awful she couldn't tell. She put on her dark moss-colored shirt with a sleeve on one side and nothing on the other arm, jeans with rips on the knees, tall brown leather ankle boots, and a brown braided wristband. She brushed out her long brown hair and pinned a small white rose hair clip in her hair to keep her hair out of her eyes.
Hope opened her door to find Rumple standing there with his arm raised to knock on her door. "I was just going to ask if you were getting ready for your first day back. Where is your other sleeve?"
Hope smiled with pride looking at her shirt. "There is no other sleeve. I made it last night, I couldn't sleep. Back on Nev- back on the island I made a lot of my clothes. Did you make coffee or breakfast?" She asked hopefully.
"No, I didn't. You have magic, you can make your own things, Dear." He said as he walked down the stairs to let her finish getting ready. Hope sprayed herself with her perfume and put her phone in her pocket. She slid down the railing down to the first floor.
She grabbed the mug of coffee that was left out for her and made a plate of waffles with Nutella made into sandwiches appear in front of her. "Don't forget to go to the office and pick out your new classes now that-" Rumple started but Hope cut him off.
"Now that they moved everyone up a grade cuz we have all been in the same grade for the whole curse. I know, I got this Papa. I love you." Hope said, walking out the door to her car. She turned up the music and sang along trying to stop her mind from wandering. Hope kept drumming her fingers on her steering wheel. Come on me, chill out. You're not the same girl you were the last time you were here. Neither are the other kids. Remember the rules for me 2.0 at school.
Rule one, no magic at school, I don't need everyone asking questions about it or Papa. Rule two, don't start a problem with anyone but sometimes you are allowed to finish it. We have no reason to fear any of them anymore. Rule three, avoid topics like Papa, Jacob, and where I was last week and all that.
Before she knew it, Hope had pulled into the parking lot. Once she had all her classes picked out she walked to her locker and stuffed her backpack inside. Hope grabbed two folders and notebooks, her pencil case, along with a book to read. She opened the familiar book of The Cruel Prince as she walked to her new class, reading as she walked. Most of her classrooms were close to the ones she had before.
Hope walked into her new History class knowing she was in for a very dull class. She took an open seat next to the window, enjoying the comfort of the sunshine. A familiar laugh sent a sense of dread down her spine. Oh no. She thought as the Evil Four walked in. Her fingers itched to pull out her knife that she hid in the sleeve of her shirt. Hope took a deep breath turning to look out the window. Your alright, they can't hurt me anymore. If anything they should be scared of me now. She told herself hoping to cheer herself up.
