Chapter 55: Father Daughter Time

"Here. We will rest for a few hours. Then we keep going." Mulan told everyone as they walked into an open field of grass.

"Me and Emma can get water, Mulan and Aurora get firewood. Hope, you and Hook, watch the campsite." Mary Margaret said.

Hope got off Killian's back and looked at them. "Wouldn't it make more sense for Emma and Aurora to watch the camp? Dad and I can get firewood."

"Why don't you just use your magic to get everything?" Emma asked her.

"Because the last time I used a lot of magic in one day, I slept for like ten hours and we can't afford that night now." Hope replied.

"We can watch the camp. You lot scurry off to do your jobs." Killian told them as he laid down on the grass.

The others walked away from them as Hope sat down. "So how did you end up here? If the curse took you to Storybrooke." He asked her as he took off his coat and placed it behind his head like a pillow.

"One, when we sleep, I call dibs on your coat. Two, I should explain a bit about Storybrooke and the curse. As long as you won't go report everything back to Cora." Hope joked. "During the curse, I had no idea about Neverland or anyone I met there. They were fictional characters, not my family. I had a different name and a new life. I lived with who I thought was my uncle, Matt. I would look after the mayor, Regina's son, Henry, almost every weekend since he came to town. He is my little brother, not by blood but I love him like one. Not long after Emma came to Storybrooke to break the curse, is when I got my boyfriend. His name is Jacob and he is really great. But once the curse broke, I knew that was it for us."

Killian brought out his flask and offered it to her, "Drink?"

"Pass," Hope told him. "Even if it reminds me more of you than my childhood, it still reminds me of my childhood too much to like it. Anyway, back to story time. When I remembered Peter and everything we went through together I knew there was no way I wanted to be with anyone else. I feel bad for Jacob, he didn't do anything. But enough about my love life. The curse broke and I remembered my life. I knew I didn't have any family in town so I stayed with the man who took care of me during the curse. While I was cursed I always saw him as a dad and he saw me as a daughter, so I became his daughter."

"But your my daughter and I will fight this guy to prove otherwise." Her dad told her, pretending to fight.

Hope laughed at him as she explained, "I can have two fathers. You are my Dad, he is my Papa. Anyway, he wanted revenge on Regina for making the woman he loves suffer, so he called a Wraith to hunt her. Emma, Mary Margaret, her husband, and I fought the thing while Regina tried to open a portal to send it here. And we did, but the portal took hold of Emma. I knew Mary Margaret would go with her and I jumped in as well. Me and Henry had been talking about this place for a year. I just had to come see it myself. I love exploring."

"That is quite the story, Songbird." Killian said as he took a sip from his flask. "So when I get there I must befriend Henry, scare Jacob, and kill this Matt fellow. Got it."

She glared at him and pulled his coat out from under his head. "How many times do I have to tell you? No hurting anyone." Hope sat down and used Killian as a pillow. She pulled her coat over herself and something fell out of his pocket. It was a small square of paper. "Magic paper?" She asked him as she put it in her pants pocket. He had brought back a few sheets of paper one time on a supply run. Hope tried to replicate its magic as she and her dad loved passing each other notes with it.

"Yeah. I have a sheet or two left. It can be extremely helpful." He told his daughter as he wrapped his arms around her. "You know this is going to get complicated. I will do what I have to do to get by."
