Chapter 41: Forbidden Fruit

"So one more time what happened yesterday?" Jacob asked as they walked out of school the next day.

Amelia bumped his shoulder and said, "I packed up some stuff for a few days, got my school stuff, and left Matt a note saying I was staying by Henry and Regina for a few days and to give me space. Then I went to Henry's house and started making dinner while Regina picked him up. He was shocked I was in his house making dinner." They both laughed as she continued, "I told him I was staying for a bit cuz me and Matt got into a bit of a fight. Then we had dinner, and somehow it went really well. It felt like things were back to normal. It was just a normal day of me watching Henry and Regina asked me to stay for dinner. That's about it. Honestly, I'm really happy things are back to normal."

Jacob opened the door to his pickup truck for her "And I'm happy you're happy. M'lady your chariot awaits."

"Why thank you, kind sir." Amelia responded as she climbed in. While they drove to the mayor's house she wondered how August's plan to get Emma to believe worked last night. "Oh, it's a left here." She told her boyfriend as he stopped at a crosswalk looking confused.

"Thank you. So what you gonna do for like what two hours till Henry gets done with school?" Jacob wondered as he turned left.

With a shrug, Amelia told him "I'm not sure. Maybe read or work on homework. Ask if Regina needs help with anything to avoid doing homework. What about you?"

"Well I'm going over to my mom's tonight so chill now and then do my homework then so I can avoid talking to her and Elizabeth." He told her as he parked his truck outside Regina's house. "See you tomorrow? I'll pick you up in the morning,"

"Of course." Amelia told him. She kissed his cheek and moved to get out but Jacob grabbed her hand.

"Oh come on, I get real kisses, nice try." He joked. Amelia turned back to look at him and kissed his lips before grabbing her backpack and getting out.

She stuck her tongue out at him and he laughed as he drove away. "I'm back!" Amelia called as she walked in the doors heading for the staircase.

"Oh, perfect timing! Could you come into the kitchen and help me with something?" Regina asked. She walked in and saw Regina chopping an apple. "Would you mind helping me with this? I have decided to take a new approach to my Swan problem and am going to invite her over to talk. I thought making one of my famous turnovers couldn't hurt. Everyone is more willing to help after they've had something sweet."

Amelia managed to smile before saying "I have no idea how to make one but sure. I love eating them. Dibs on the leftovers."

"I can make ones for you and Henry later. I know Henry hasn't liked apple things much lately. I was thinking of making chocolate marshmallow one's for you two as you both love hot chocolate." Regina explained.

"Sold! So what can I do to help?" She asked as Regina explained what to do to start the dough. Once she started working her mind went racing. The Evil Queen is baking something for Emma with apples, this can't be good. Lia, chill out, she has been so nice the last few days plus she does have an apple tree it's probably from there. On the other hand, she is being really nice, she could be up to something. On the other other hand, the apple was left in the Enchanted Forest after Snow ate it, right? Yeah, there was no way that one it would work here as it is magic. And two if Regina had it, she would have given it to Emma as soon as she got to Storybrooke. Maybe it really is just a friendly bribe for Emma to do what she wants. Maybe it's har-

"Amelia!" Regina told her again snapping her fingers.

"Huh?" The teenager asked, totally lost in her train of thought.
