"... so that you may remember the words that were previously spoken by the holy prophets, as well as the commandment of the Lord and Savior, taught by your apostles ..."
2 Peter 3: 2
This chapter speaks of the coming of Jesus. Something that was revealed through holy men used by the Lord. Peter says that we must remember the words of the holy prophets. So there are prophets who are not saints, who prophesy things that do not come from the Lord. (Matthew 7:15; 1 Timothy 6: 3)
When the Lord speaks that we are to be holy, and because the only way for Him to speak to us is through holiness. (1 Peter 1:16)
We know the tree by its fruits, just as we need to bear fruit in order to be recognized as holy prophets. (Galatians 5: 22-26; Luke 6: 43-45)
Walk in holiness and let the Lord use you!
