"Because it is written, Be holy, for I am holy."
1 Peter 1:16
Holiness is something we need to have in our lives. We cannot be saints just to seek something, or to ask God for something.
To be holy first is to kill our daily flesh so that we can live a spiritual life, because the flesh is the only thing that prevents us from being holy. (Leviticus 6: 12-13; Galatians 2: 19-20)
We need to be holy because God is Holy! Just for that! We cannot be saints out of self-interest, that would be in vain. (1 Peter 1:16)
When the Lord speaks to seek things from above, He is opening our eyes and understanding to show what can really change our lives. (Colossians 3: 2)
Be holy just because the Lord is Holy.
