"Seen as, by his divine power, all things that lead to life and godliness have been given to us, by the complete knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and virtue, for which his precious and many have been given to us. great promises, so that through them you may become co-participants in the divine nature, freeing yourself from the corruption of the passions that are in the world. "
2 Peter 1: 3-4
The passions of the world have been knocking on the door of Christians every day. These are things to get us out of the Lord's presence. We were made for the divine nature, that is, for the things that come from the Lord. (Colossians 3: 1)
The Lord has given us his own glory that is much more pleasurable than the things of this world, to overcome those passions that take us out of His presence.
But to overcome these passions, we need to be of the divine nature, that is, to live the life that Jesus conquered for us. (Galatians 2: 19-20)
Don't just be a hearer of the Lord's word, but be a participant in the things He has prepared for His church, and overcome the passions of the world.
