"The Lord said to Satan: Have you noticed my servant Job, that there is no one on earth like him, a man of integrity and uprightness, who fears God and turns away from evil?"
Job 1: 8
Job was a man fearing the Lord. This made Satan jealous. He went through temptations to prove to Satan that he was truly intimate with the Lord.
Our lives are compared to Job's. We go through struggles every day because the devil is uncomfortable with our relationship with the Lord. Our Father was proud of Job, and it is no different with those who give up their lives to live that of Christ Jesus. (Galatians 2: 19-20)
Jesus died on the cross because he knows that our lives are very valuable. (John 3:16)
