"For he will be great before the Lord; he will not drink wine or strong drink; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother's womb."
Luke 1:15
This passage is talking about the life of John the Baptist, in which he was chosen to prepare the way of the Lord. (Luke 1:76) He was filled with the Holy Spirit and not with things that satisfied the flesh. Today there are Bible scholars looking for situations that will free people from sin, such as: "doing this is no problem", "this is not a sin", "the Bible does not say anything it cannot" and even ruder things . We often think like them, but we forget that the Holy Spirit lives within us. (1 Corinthians 6:19)
Strong drink and wine are just a few things that meat craves. There are many things that keep us from being filled with the Holy Spirit, so we need to ask Him to reveal us, so that we can get rid of them. (1 Corinthians 6:12) The Lord wants us completely. (Deuteronomy 6: 5)
