The next day~ - Time skip to after urokudai introduce himself and tanjiro talked about giyuu and how they ended up on the mountain -
3rd person POV
You guys trained with master urokudai for 2 years and finally cut the huge rock with success. You guys were going to the final selection now :D (long time skip! Sorry 😅)
You were packing your stuff that you needed to go to the final selection. What Tanjiro didnt know is that you trained way more than he did, you trained at night without both urokudai and tanjiro knowing. You felt accomplished.
During dinner, urokudai passed you and tanjiro wolf masks, he said it was to protect them and he cast a spell on them.

Tanjiro POV
"Hey um y/n?.. do you mind telling me your past? It's okay if you dont want to!" I asked. She looked at me gently and smiled sweetly, "sure..". Her voice made me had butterflies in my stomach. I blushed I gave a happy smile.
She told me about her mom and her dad, though she didnt remember anything about him except his words and his last smile before he passed.
I looked at her with pity and hugged her. "I'm so sorry y/n I didnt know about your past, I shouldn't have asked..." she just smiled and said it was fine.
I liked y/n for awhile now, she was so patient, kind and sweet and beautiful. However I was to much of a coward to tell her about my feelings.
