Tanjiro's POV:

'A lullaby?...' I thought.

That's it! I had an idea.

"Urgh... Knock knock, little bunny from the mountain... ACK- Why are your ears so- long? When she was small, my mother ate the leaves of a tall tree... and that is why, my ears are so long~..." I tried singing while keeping her in place.

Sweat dripped from my forehead as Nezuko headbutted me repeatedly as she tried to escape from my grasp.

When I continued to sing the lyrics I felt Nezuko slowly stopped moving. Her eyes widened as she heard the lyrics.

Our mother used to sing this lullaby to her.

When Nezuko was a little girl, mother would hold her hand gently and walk her  up the mountain together to pick some fruits with our little baby brother on her back.

Our mother had the sweetest most angelic voice we've ever heard. This was probably one of Nezuko's fondest memory of our mother.

When I finished the song, Nezuko started to sob.

Tears streamed down her face as she cried loudly like a child again. I hugged her, after all I was her big brother. I would never let anything happen to her.

I knew this song would've struck a nerve in her and bring her back into reality with a vision of where she used to come from.

"Nezuko... it's okay, I'm here." I assured softly.

My eyes widened as I saw her slowly shrink back into her smaller toddler size.

Her sobs grew softer as she shrunk and she finally fell asleep on my lap.

When she finished sobbing, I let out a giant sigh of relief.

"She's asleep... thank you mother!" I said exhausted.

Then I saw y/n jumped down and landed infront of me softly.

My breath hitched as I saw her slowly approached me, with every step she took, the pace of my heart quickened.

She knelt infront of me, she had her hood and her mask on so I could only gaze into her beautiful eyes.

Oh how I missed gazing into them...

"How are you feeling, dear?" She asked me in a concerned tone.

Oh how I missed her voice...

I felt her hand rest on my cheek as she scanned my face.

Oh how I missed her touch...

I felt myself blush. Then I couldn't help but smile.

"I- I missed you..." Was all I managed to say as I met her eyes. Her eyes widened as felt her smile and looked down shyly, unable to maintain eye contact.

"Me too, I hate that we have to see each other again under these circumstances." She replied sadly.

"Any circumstance is worth it as long as you're here with me, love. No matter how bad it is, nothing is worse than not seeing you again." I assured her with a loving smile.
