Chap 97[Finally back]S2

Tanjiro's POV:

We all decided to meet on top of a roof to discuss more of our plan.

Inosuke was just going crazy trying to explain that he saw a demon at his place. He made scrapyard hand gestures trying to make himself look like the demon.

My sweat dropped at his awkward hand gestures.

"Uh- yea well hold on-" I tried saying but he kept on interrupting me.

"IT LOOKED LIKE THIS! CAN YOU SEE?"  Inosuke yelled while wiggling his fingers and doing huge movements.

"Y-yea Well. Hold on, Uzui-san and Zenitsu will come soon for our regular meet up, explain it to them later-" I said with a smile.

"Zenitsu's not coming."

My eyes widened as I turned to the side to meet with Uzui's back.

I furrowed my brows in concern and confusion.

"What do you mean Zenitsu isn't coming?" I asked him.

Uzui just looked down, staring at the people walking buying things, going on dates and eating.

"I think I've put you guys in terrible danger. The desire of saving my wives had made me make a grave mistake. Zenitsu stopped contacting me last night..." Uzui replied, his body tense.

"You guys have to get out of here, your ranks are way to low. If a demon here is an upper moon, you can't deal with them," he continued, "I'll assume that the people who stopped sending me letters are dead. From here on out, I'll continue this mission on my own." Uzui declared as he stood up.

My eyes widened when I heard this. Me and Inosuke tried to negotiate with him but he wouldn't listen.

Then he just disappeared without a sound.

I sighed in disappointment.

I turned to Inosuke, "Maybe he didn't believe us because we're the members of the lower class..."

Insouke turned to me, "We're currently at the Kanoe rank! The fourth lowest on the chain." He informed me.

Then he raised his hand and showed me the back of it.

"Show us our rank!" He declared, then he clentched his fists.

I watched in awe as I saw the word that swells up due to muscle expansion behind his fists.

Insouke looked at me in the eyes confused at my shocked reaction, "Didn't your hand feel itchy back at the Wisteria mountains?" He asked.

I shrugged as I looked down, "I remember feeling an itch, but I was tired so I never thought anything of it..." I replied.

Looking at my sad face, he slapped my back, "HEY CHEER UP!"

I shook my head, "Yea, now's not the time, anyways- when night falls, I'll head over to the Ogimoto House where you'll be. Wait for me there, acting alone will be dangerous." I instructed seriously.

"Today, I'll finish investigating the house I'm currently in." I declared.

"WHAT- WHY? IM TELLING YOU, THERE IS A DEMON HERE!! SO COME OVER NOW!! YOU'RE A TOTAL DUMBASS!" He screamed as he pinched my cheek hard.

Then he started to hit me as I covered my head to shield it from his rapid slapping attacks.

"Wait!- Uzui was keeping watch outside the stores at night right?- Owowowow! But Zenitsu disappeared and the demon at your house hid itself! Owowow!" I tried explaining myself.

"Owow! What in saying is- OW! I think there might be passages inside the buildings! Ow- cmon... stop beating me already!"

Insouke stopped hitting me and let me sit up properly. He arched his brows.
