Chap 75 [never lasts.]

We were walking through the forest awkwardly not really knowing what to say. Then Kinuzu decided to ask a question.

"So... what's your name? Oyakata-sama only told us to escort you but he never mentioned your name." She asked.

The lady smiled as she rubbed her belly, "That silly guy... well my name is ukiro, Ukiro Tochu," She introduced with a sweet smile, she then looked down at her belly, "and this little guys name is Hanaku Tochu." She said with a closed eyed smile.

"Aweee..." Hine said, "You must be excited to start your family with your husband right Ukiro-kun?" She asked as she turned to Ukiro.

She giggled and nodded, "I can't wait to see my husband again... he can be over protective at times but he trusts Oyakata and agreed to let him choose my body guards."

"I can't wait to see you again Ukiro-kun! I want to see your child you know?" Hine said excitedly cupping Ukiro's hands in her own gently with a big grin, then she turned to her fiance, Hanzo, "Right dear?"

Hanzo laughed and nodded.

"You guys might have a child by that time to!" Kotaro, Kinuzu's boyfriend, added with a cheeky smile.

Hanzo blushed and rubbed his neck sheepishly and Hine was blushing. She then glared at Kotaro and smacked the back of his head causing him to yelp in pain, "IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR SENIOR?!" she yelled holding out her fists angrily.

"WAHH I'M SORRY OKAY ? IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT YOUR OLD, YOU GRANDMA!" Kotaro shot back as he rubbed the back of his head trying to ease the pain.

I gasped quietly, 'Wrong thing to say Kotaro... you're dead... Hine is not one to mess with when mad...' I thought to myself as my sweat dropped seeing Hine's face turn redder and a fire aura surrounded her.

"WHAT. DID. YOU. SAY?." Hine threatened with a smile.

"AAAAHHHHH! IM SORRY!!"

I cupped my mouth trying my best not to laugh when I saw a black eye on Kotaro's face as we neared the village. "I said I was sorry Hine Chan..." Kotaro mumbled while rubbing his eye pouting.

"Well, you should've said it sooner, OR NOT SAY IT AT ALL." Hine replied while crossing her arms angrily.

I walked to Ukiro, "Sorry about them, their kinda crazy..." I whispered to her. Ukiro giggled and shook her head, "This was the most fun I had in awhile." She replied with a closed eyed smile.

I chuckled at her comment then looked around, it was already dark.

"Don't worry, we're almost there." Ukiro assured as she continued to walk.

*A FEW HOURS OF WALKING LATER*

I kept insisting for her to rest but she wouldn't listen...So I decided to give up and let her lead the way.

"There it is!" She suddenly exclaimed. I saw a group of people waiting there for her, one in particular looks happy to see her. He smiled happily as he ran up to her. "Ukiro!" He called out as he carried her and spun her around.

Ukiro laughed.

The man set her down and wrapped his hand around her waist protectively, "These are the body guards huh?" He asked his wife. Ukiro nodded with a thankful smile, "Yes dear, their the one who escorted me here." she replied.

The man let go of his wife and turned to us with a bow. "Thank you for sending my pregnant wife back here, it must have been a tough job considering you all have to climb very high up the mountains to reach our village." He thanked us.

"Please, it's our job, you don't have to bow." Kinuzu replied while shaking her head.

The man smiled, "why don't you all stay the night? You guys are more than welcomed." He offered.

My friends all turned to me to make the decision. I shook my head 'no'. "That's a very nice offer but it's okay, we need to head back... I want to ask Oyakata sama if I can join my other group of friends on their mission." I replied with an apologetic smile.

Ukiro frowned, "At least stay for some drinks and take a rest... it's been a tiring journey and it's the least we can do to thank you." she persisted.

I sighed, then smiled, "Alright...I suppose that'll be nice."

(at this point, Tanjiro and the rest already met Rengoku on the train since it's night time)

We head into the house and made ourselves comfortable on the soft couch. A few minutes later, the man came back with a tray with 4 cups of warm water since it was chilly out.

We each took a cup thanked him as we quietly took a sip of the water.

"When is the baby due?" I asked him. "In about 4 to 3 more months... I still can't thank you guys enough for escorting her... now more demons are on the rampage." He said while looking down.

I clentched my fist, "Do you believe that all demons are bad?..." I asked him. He shrugged, "Depends, if they kill my loved ones then yes, but so far none of them did, luckily..." he replied, "but I don't trust them and also don't consider them to be good."

"I see..." I said with a nod.

"I hope you will all visit us back once more and to see our child." He said with a small smile.

Kinuzu chuckled, "If we survive until Muzan is defeated," she said, "I have a very important person to protect..." she said in deep thought.

Hanzo frowned, "I'm afraid that the Hashiras might not be able to defeat him... not even the upper moons..." he sighed as he took another sip of his water.

Everyone was quiet at this point, we all knew that most of us might die during this...war... maybe not even half of us might survive long enough to even start our own families or see our loved ones again. Who knows? maybe we'll even lose and everything will be lost. imagine losing the ones who have been there all your life, failing to protect them, Tanjiro... Nezuko... their family, Takashi, his older brother, Zenitsu... Inosuke... both not even knowing their parents.

All we can do now is just live for one another and accept. Hopefully when we look into the future, we'll all be there, laughing and smiling with our friends and experience being parents...

I gave a soft sad smile while recalling back the memories on how I met my friends, slowly gaining one companion after another. It just hurts knowing that that will all go way someday. The journey we went through together was truly unforgetable... arguments... trust... battle. All of it was unexpected. But it's what makes life- 'life' nothing will go as planned,that'll just spoil everything wouldn't it?

Now all we can do is just enjoy while it lasts. Good things will never truly last.
