Chap 78 [sacrifice]

your POV

I squeezed my eyes shut as sweat ran down my forehead from the pressure everyone was giving me. When I opened them again I met eyes with Hanzo, he gave me a kind reassuring smile.

"Please... save her for me..." he pleaded, I could see his eyes were desperate. 

I hesitated, then he started to slip, then I grabbed on tighter. "I- I- can't just let go! You'll die... What about Hine?! She loves you so much... you can't just leave her!" I replied as I grunted, he was slipping again.

Hanzo gave me a sad look, "I love her too... she's my soul, even if I lose my life at least I know my soul is moving on... please, I promised to protect her but I can't, can you fulfill my promise for me? My death isn't your fault, I assure you," He said as he gave me a calm smile, "Please let me go." 

I felt tears stung the corner of my eyes slightly, I squeezed them shut, "I'm sorry..." I whispered as I let him go.

I opened them again to see him give me a grateful look as he fell, "Thank you, tell her I love her." I heard him say as his figure became smaller and smaller until it was gone.

"I will..." I muttered under my breath as I blinked away the tears.

"I promise to protect her Hanzo, leave it to me." I said.

 I forced myself up. I closed my eyes, I changed into a demon, "Gentle mist..." I said as the droplets appreared and land on my broken arm and leg, numbing the pain. 

"This will do..." I muttered under my breath while moving my fingers on my left hand.

"Oooo... this just got interesting." Hogu said with a grin.

I turned to Hogu with my blood boiling with rage, then I used my black moon, 50%. I charged at him with my right hand ready to cut of his head- or maybe worse.

His eyes widened when he saw me charge at him with that amount of power, he barely dodged, he jumped up into the air. I looked at him calmly, then used my shadow transmission to appear behind him, I raised my right arm, "SHAODW EXPLOSION!" I yell as I punched though his stomach which made him cough out blood. I left my arm there as my arm lit up and let out a gigantic explosion.

When the smoke cleared, all was left of him was his blood and on of his eyeballs lying on the ground.

I looked at it will no emotions, "Karma's a b*tch huh." I said coldly as I step on his eyeball making it explode. "Ew." I commented.

Then my eyes changed back to it's original state. 

I ran to Hine's side and checked her pulse, I sighed in relief, she's alive. However, she fainted.

I placed my hand on the places where she's been stabbed and used my gentle mist to help her sooth the pain a little. Then I plopped down beside her and changed back to my human form to catch my breath. 

'Wait... KOTARO AND KINUZU! I HAVE TO GO HELP THEM!' I thought to myself frantically. I gently placed Hine under a tree so she's safe.

I ran into the woods where I saw both of them went into. 

A few minutes of trying to find them, I came across two people lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

"No... Nonono...NO!" I said frantically as I ran to them.

"N-NO... KINUZU... KOTARO..." I said as I placed my index and middle finger on their necks.

No pulse...

"N-no... this got to be a joke right?... PLEASE WAKE UP!" I yelled as tears started to form in my eyes.

"It's funny how you think that their going to y/n."  I heard a familiar voice say from behind me.

I froze, I clentched my fists in anger. I turned around and glared at the despicable Muzan Kibutsuji.

"You... YOU KILLED THEM." I accused angrily.

"I warned you that once you told someone your secret then they'll die right? The girl was the first one to go. The guy was just in the way," Muzan said glaring back.

My eyes widened.

"You're lucky it wasn't your beloved Tanjiro."  He added.

"You stay away from him," I warned as I slowly stood up and changed into a demon, "you'll pay for what you've done." I said.

My breathing pace was fast, I felt veins popped out of my forehead and my fists were clentched so tightly that my knuckles turned white and it was shaking.

I felt a burning sensation on my face and I saw Muzan's eyes widen a little, but I didn't care.

Muzan's POV

Is that... a demon slayer mark? At such a young age... she's more useful than I thought... more benefit for me.

"Relax. I came here not to fight you, but to invite you to join me." I said calmly.

Your POV

I scoffed angrily, "Join YOU? LIKE HELL I WOULD. OVER MY DEAD BODY OLD MAN." I replied as I got into my fighting stance.

I saw Muzan's eyes narrow as he grunted.

Then he smirked and took out a book.

My eyes widened, 'No... the book Oyakata-sama gave me! Why does he have it!? I'm sure I hid it.'

"I haven't read it yet. If you join me, I won't read it and your friends won't end up like them," Muzan said signalling to Kinuzu and Kotaro, "if you don't join me, then I'll kill everyone and everything you know and love."

I grunted in anger as I charged towards him, but he dodged my attack and disappeared into the darkness.

"You have until the end of this week." His voice echoed.

I growled as I changed back.

I ran to Kinuzu and Kotaro. I knew they were gone...

A tear ran down my cheek. 'Tsk stop crying! They wouldn't want to see you like this!' I thought to myself trying to stop myself from crying, 'It's okay... don't cry... everything is going to be fine...' I thought trying to reassure myself.

I calmed myself down and paid my respects to my friends...

"I'm sorry I couldn't be there in time..." I muttered under my breath.

Then everything started to light up, I looked up into the sky, it's morning...

I felt a gust of gentle qind brushing against my face. It was like it was saying, "it's okay, its not your fault."

I took a deep breath and exhaled.

~An hour later~

I buried my friends and said my final goodbyes to them.

"I'll come visit you again okay?... rest in peace... I'll miss you guys, say hi to Hanzo for me..." I said with a small sad smile.

I walked back to Hine and she was still sleeping.

I gently carried her and continued my way home with a heavy heart.
