Back in DC, only this time it was different. The stakes were high before, but now they felt even higher. Natasha drove up to the hospital, the traffic was bad. "Just get out we gotta go in" Natasha said, abandoning the car in the street.
Olivia stepped out and the two ran inside. Steve was already there. Olivia and Natasha stood in the window at the hospital, watching Fury being operated on.
Olivia had never been in a hospital before, and she certainly didn't like how it made her feel. People in the witch coven were rarely sick or injured, because everyone had the power to heal one another.
"Is he going to be ok?" Olivia asked, keeping her eyes on the man.
"I don't know . . ." Steve replied.
"Tell me about the shooter." Nat said. Everyone was in a haze. They spoke to one another, but never broke eye contact from Fury.
"He's fast. Strong. Had a metal arm." Steve said.
Just then, Maria Hill joined them in looking through the window. She knew Fury the best out of all of them, so Olivia couldn't imagine what she was going through.
As they continued to watch, all of the nurses and doctors in the room began to move in a hustle. They were loosing him.
"Don't do this to me Nick" Natasha whispered. Olivia reached over and grabbed her hand, squeezing it hard. Natasha repeated the phrase over and over again. But it was no use.
Nick Fury was dead. Time of death 1:30am. Natasha was clearly very upset, but she tired to stay strong and hold it in. Olivia knew they needed rest. It had almost been twenty four hours that they had been awake.
Olivia didn't really know how to feel. She had never known anyone that had ever died before and she was never taught that death was a bad thing.
After a little while they carted him off and allowed everyone to go in and see him. Olivia let Natasha have her moment, standing beside Fury's body. She stood back beside Steve, leaning against him sleepily.
"I need to take him" Maria said, entering the room.
"Natasha" Steve said, walking over to her. She had been standing beside him for a while, so she knew it was finally time to let him go. She started out of the room, Steve following after her. "Natasha!"
Olivia walked over to Fury's body for a moment, placing her hand over his chest. She let her powers shimmer, seeing if there was anything she could do, but it was no use. He was already dead and she didn't know how to bring things back to life.
Olivia left the room, hearing Natasha talking to Steve. "You're a terrible liar" she said, spotting Olivia. "Let's go."
Olivia followed after Nat and they left the building. When they got out there, the car was surprisingly in the same spot that they had left it. They got in and started for their hotel.
Olivia didn't know what she could say to possibly make Natasha feel better, so she decided to say nothing at all. They got back to the hotel, checked in and made it to their room.
Olivia only unpacked the essentials for the night. Toothbrush, toothpaste, pajamas and her stuffed penguin. Once the two were ready for bed, the light went off and they both prepared to sleep.
