It was later into the afternoon and Olivia was sat in her bedroom reading a novel. She was almost to the end and all the pieces were finally starting to fit together. Reading was a hobby she picked up a few years into the blip. After her friends she liked to play video games with had disappeared and the quality of movies and tv shows coming out was not what it used to be, Olivia decided to try something she never really got into. Olivia did see the impact reading had on her though. It made writing English much easier and had improved her English comprehension. It made her proud when her teachers noticed these differences while she was still in high school, but now that she's out of school she doesn't really receive that validation anymore.
One thing Olivia had really taken notice of about herself recently was that her Sokovian accent was pretty much gone. Certain words still came out with a small twang, but other than that any stranger passing by would just think she was born and raised here. In her heart it made Olivia sad. When she was younger she was very proud of where she came from and was not afraid for people to know that. She almost felt like if the circumstances had been different, would she have let herself let go?
While in the middle of a chapter Olivia heard a knock on her bedroom door, followed by it immediately opening up, her mother standing on the other side. Just who Olivia suspected to see since the only people that ever come to her room are her mother and father. "It worked", Natasha said, a small grin beginning to appear across her face.
Olivia grabbed her bookmark from her desk and slipped into her book. She shut her book and looked her mother in the eyes. This was a monumental moment. The time travel had worked, and now that it was official, the Avengers could move forward with their planning. Grasping for hope had been extremely difficult for Olivia for the past couple of years and this was truly the first time she had felt hopeful for a long time. She was ready to get everyone back.
"Meeting in five", Natasha said, leaving the room. Olivia jumped up from her chair, placing her book in her spot. She shuffled over to the door and shut it so that she could change out of her pajamas that she had been wearing all day. She slipped on a pair of olive green biker shorts and a black crewneck sweatshirt that she had stolen from her father. After brushing her long brown hair she left the room and went upstairs towards the conference room where she knew everyone would be. She was the last one to arrive, which meant the meeting was now in full swing.
"Okay, so the how works", Steve said, wasting no time jumping in. "Now, we gotta figure out the when and the where. Almost everyone in this room has had an encounter with at least one of the six infinity stones."
"Or substitute the word 'encounter' for 'damn near been killed' by one of the six infinity stones", Tony said.
"Well, I haven't. . .", Scott mentioned. "but I don't even know what the hell you're all talking about."
"Regardless, we only have enough Pym Particles for one round-trip each. And these stones have been in a lot of different places throughout history", Banner stated.
"What happens if we need more than the one particle?", Olivia asked, just out of curiosity.
"Wherever you are, that's your new reality. There's no coming back", Bruce said.
Olivia could feel her stomach drop. She suddenly wasn't feeling very confident or brave when it came to herself traveling time. What if something did happen and she ended up stuck somewhere else? Just the thought of it gave her chills.
