A few days later, Steve, Olivia, Sam, and Natasha were in London for Peggy's funeral. Things between Natasha and Steve were awkward after the Accords conversation, but they didn't let that get in the way of their relationship.
During the funeral itself, Steve and Sam sat up front while Olivia and Natasha sat in the far back. "Is this weird at all to you?" Olivia whispered, being as quiet as she possibly could.
"Sort of, but not really" Natasha whispered back. Natasha knew Steve was upset about the death of Peggy. She was someone he knew, respected, even loved before Natasha was even born. Natasha never worried about Steve loving Peggy more though, because she knew he loved her.
Once the funeral was complete, everyone filed out of the large church. Olivia, Natasha, and Sam all stood outside, waiting for Steve, but after many minutes of waiting, he still hadn't come out. "I'll go check on him" Natasha said, going inside.
Olivia glanced up at Sam, holding her hand up so the sun wasn't in her face. "Did you ever meet Peggy?" Olivia asked.
"No, you?" Sam asked.
"No" Olivia said, looking back at the large wooden doors of the church. After a few minutes, the couple came outside and Natasha started for the jet. Her and Olivia were on their way to Vienna for the signing of the Accords.
"Great, another boring meeting I don't want to be apart of" Olivia said as they walked into the building, cameras flashing everywhere. "Why did I have to come?"
"So you can learn about this kind of stuff. You're gonna be controlling these missions one day kid, so you better learn now" Natasha said.
The two went inside, seeing people all around. A staff member approached them. "Excuse me, Ms. Romanoff?" She asked.
"Yes?" Natasha said.
"These need your signature" the women said, handing Natasha some papers. Natasha signed them, the women thanking her.
"I suppose neither of us is used to the spotlight" a man said, walking up to them.
"Oh, well, it's not always so flattering" Natasha said.
"You seem to be doing all right so far. Considering your last trip to Capitol Hill. I wouldn't think you'd be particularly comfortable in this company" He said.
"Well, I'm not" Natasha sighed.
"And that alone makes me glad you are here, Ms. Romanoff" he stated.
"Why? You don't approve of all this?" Natasha asked.
"The Accords, yes. The politics, not really. Two people in a room can get more done than a hundred" he said.
"Unless you need to move a piano" an older gentleman said, joining the conversation. The two men spoke to one another.
Olivia tugged on her moms arm. "I'm confused, do you guys know each other, or?" Olivia asked.
"That is prince T'Challa and King T'Chaka from Wakanda" Natasha whispered.
Olivia scoffed. "Would have been good to know in advance that I'd be in the presence of royalty" Olivia said, brushing off her dress.
