The Return of the Queens

Chapter 49

It had been a month since Laurel had decided that she was going to stay home and let Thea go join the League if it came to that. Everyone had been training hard and it was looking like that if nothing else, Oliver and Thea were going to be good to go if they had to go be in the League, but hopefully that wasn't going to happen. While the team was training the alarm went off.

"What's going on Felicity?" Oliver asked.

"Looks like someone is trying to sell Vertigo in the Glades." Felicity said.

"How many times are we going to have to take down people selling this stuff. I thought once the Count was put away, that would be the end of that." Sara said.

"I guess someone is always going to look to find a way to make it and sell it. People used a lot of it while it was out there." Thea said.

"I guess so. Do we know who is selling it?" Oliver asked.

"Not yet, but it looks like people are leaving this warehouse with Vertigo to sell. You might be able to find out who is selling it if you go there." Felicity said.

"That sounds like a plan. Let's go and see what we can find out." Laurel said as the team went to put their suits on.

"Ok, so here is what we are going to do. Thea and Roy, I want you up in the rafter in a sniper position. Barbara and Sara will take the East entrance and Laurel and I will take the West entrance. Any questions before we go?" Oliver asked and everyone said no as they left the bunker.

Once they got to the warehouse Thea and Roy got to the roof and entered the warehouse so that they could tell the team what they were looking at once they entered the building. "Arrow, there are two men at the door you are going to enter." Artemis said.

"Copy that. Black Canary and I will be on the lookout." Green arrow said.

"White Canary, you have the same at your entrance so watch out." Arsenal said.

"Thanks for the heads up Arsenal." White Canary said.

"Is everyone where they need to be?" Green Arrow asked and everyone said yes.

"Ok, no kill shots. We need to know who is running things and we can't find that out if everyone is dead. Breach." Green Arrow said as they all entered the building and took out the people who had their backs to the doors that they were entering.

Artemis and Arsenal took out some of the men that were in the middle of the warehouse while all of the others made their way to the middle of the building and started to fight the men that were still standing. There were two men left to take care of. One of them seemed to be a skilled fighter. Green Arrow went after him, but the guy was about to get away.

The last man that was left to take down was on the ground and Green Arrow approached him. "Who is in charge here?" Green Arrow asked.

"I am not going to say anything to you." The man said.

Green Arrow took out an arrow and shoved it into the man's shoulder. "Who is in charge. Tell me or I will put another one in your other shoulder." Green Arrow said.

"Ok, his name is Ricardo Diaz. You have to get me out of town. If he finds out that I told you anything he will kill me." The man said.

"Well, that is not up to us. You can tell the DA about this Diaz guy and they might work you out some kind of deal." Black Canary said.

"I will be a rat if I do that. I can't let Diaz know anything about me turning on him." The man said.

"Well, the only thing you can do is workout a deal with the DA and they can get you into witness protection." Black Canary said.

Green Arrow then took out a bola arrow and fired it at the man tying him up so that he was ready for the police like the others and then the team left. When they got back to the bunker Oliver said, "Felicity find what you can on Ricardo Diaz."

"I was already looking into him. Looks like he just got out of prison. He is in with some very bad types of people. It looks like he has been known to work with the Long Bow Hunters and the Ninth Circle. It looks like he is power hungry, and he will be looking to take over the organized crime in the city." Felicity said.

"Well, I guess we need to find a way to take this guy out as soon as possible then." Thea said.

"Laurel, I am glad that you have been working on cleaning up the police and the DA's office since you became mayor. I think it might be a good idea to look into the city council as well." Oliver said.

"I have cleaned up the police and the DA's office completely. The city council won't be hard to do. I already have an idea who is dirty. Felicity, look into the members of the city council and send the information to the police. I think they can take care of this." Laurel said and Felicity nodded as she got to work.

"I am glad that this Diaz guy won't have an easy way to take over the city because we have been cleaning up the city so well." Thea said.

"Yeah, that is a good thing. This shouldn't take long to take care of. I just wish it wasn't happening so close to when the League might be showing up." Oliver said.

"I know. The timing is not ideal, but it looks like this is going to make things easier for us because we already know who we are working against now. It normally takes us a while to find that out." Laurel said.

"Yeah, I guess you are right about that. Felicity, keep looking into the city council and let us know if anything comes up with Diaz." Oliver said as they all went to change and do a little bit more training before going home.
