Chapter 59

The next morning Oliver called Felicity to see if she had found anything on Dante or any of the other members of the Ninth Circle yet. "Have you received any information that might help us with the Ninth Circle Felicity?" Oliver asked.

"No, not in Star City anyways. There is movement in other cities that they are probably trying to destroy though." Felicity said.

"Where would they be located then?" Oliver asked.

"Looks like they are in Gotham, Metropolis, and Central City. Not the best places to go when one city has Batman and Batwoman, the other has Superman, and the other has the Flash." Felicity said.

"I don't think they are trying to destroy those cities Felicity. They would be stopped before they got to far. I think this is a diversion to make Emiko think that they are gone for good and then they will come back when she is least expecting it." Oliver said.

"Well, I guess they don't know that we are keeping an eye on them as well. We will know when they get back here and then you guys can take them all down." Felicity said.

"That is the plan. Let Barbara know what you have found when she gets there and tell her to make sure she keeps an eye on everything and to let us know as soon as one of them crosses into our city." Oliver said.

"Will do. I will see you guys tonight then." Felicity said.

"Yeah, see you tonight." Oliver said as he hung up his phone and saw Thea waiting for him to hang up.

"So, what did Felicity find?" Thea asked.

"I think they are trying to make Emiko think that they are no longer going to come after her and the city, but I think it is all a diversion to throw her off so that they catch her off guard when they show back up." Oliver said.

"Would be a good plan if we weren't on to them already. So, when do we go after them?" Thea asked.

"Be patient Speedy. We will have to wait for them to get back here and then we will set our trap for them." Oliver said.

"And our trap is?" Thea asked.

"Let them think that Emiko is alone but then we all attack and take them all out at once." Oliver said.

"Sounds like a plan to me. Are you sure our sister is ok with that plan?" Thea asked.

"I think she knows that she is the logical person to be the bait because they would be coming after her anyways. We will talk to Emiko again later to see if they would try anything sneaky that make them go after one of our family members or anything like that." Oliver said.

"Yeah, I think we should keep all of our options open. The Ninth Circle might decide to use a family member against Emiko, so we have to keep that option open." Thea said.

"We will. Now Ms. VP, I think it is time you get back to work." Oliver said with a smile.

"Yes sir Mr. President." Thea said smiling as well as she left the office.

Later in the day Oliver went down to the Applied Sciences area and had a talk with Emiko. "Felicity found the Ninth Circle in Gotham, Metropolis, and Central City. I think it is a diversion to make you feel like they have left you alone and when you let your guard down they will come after you." Oliver said.

"That makes since. It is what I would do if I was in this situation when I was the head of the group." Emiko said.

"So, will they come directly after you or will they try to get someone who is close to you?" Oliver asked.

"Most of the time they are straight to the point and will just come after me, but I wouldn't put is past them to come after one of you or your family either. Anything to draw me out." Emiko said.

"Well, we will just have to be on the lookout for anything then." Oliver said.

"I am sorry I brought this onto you. I should have just listened to them and left. That way I would be safe, and your family would be as well." Emiko said.

"But then we would have never met you and we wouldn't be like a big happy family right now. I wouldn't trade this for the world." Oliver said.

"Not even for the safety of your children and your wife. And what about Thea, Sara and Nora? They have now been brought into this as well." Emiko said.

"Thea doesn't regret meeting you either. I think it is safe to say that you are stuck with us now and we do know how to take care of ourselves if you haven't noticed." Oliver said.

"Oh, I have noticed. So, we just need to wait until they make their move then. That should be fun." Emiko said.

"Yeah. Tell me about it. At least we will know when they get here though. We just need to keep a close eye on the people who are close to us when they do arrive so that we can protect the ones who can't protect themselves, like the kids." Oliver said.

"Yeah, that does make this a lot easier that they don't know that I am working with you. They probably think that I am just trying to snow you over so that I can then betray you. I am sure they have heard about my new job by now, so that is probably what they are thinking that I am going to do." Emiko said.

"Well, they are going to be in for a hell of a surprise." Oliver said.

"Yes, they will. Thank you for letting me know what was going on with the situation. I am glad that we are not going into this blind. I wouldn't even know what to tell you about their plans if we didn't have this leg up on them." Emiko said.

"Well, I guess it is a good thing that we have two Computer Geeks that don't mind sitting around watching videos all day long, to watch what they are doing." Oliver said as he left the office with a smile and went back up to his office to finish his work for the day.
