The Return of the Queens

Chapter 46

A few weeks later Sara and Thea had decided that they wanted to take Nora somewhere that it could just be the three of them together so that they could get to know each other better. Nora was thriving at school and at home while helping with the twins.

Right now, the group was at Big Belly Burger getting lunch before they went to the park for the afternoon.

"So, what happens if Uncle Ollie and Aunt Laurel have to go into the League of Assassins? I have heard my dad talk about them before." Nora said.

"If they have to go then we need to pick up the slack for them. We will have to save the city while they are gone, and we will also have to look after the twins. We will need your help with that." Thea said.

"I like the twins. I don't have a problem helping with them." Nora said.

"Good because you are their older cousin now and that means that you have to show them what to do when they get older. They will look up to you." Sara said.

"I was wondering if the two of you could teach me some sort of martial arts so that I know how to protect myself if I ever have to." Nora said.

"Yeah, we can do that. It is best to know something like martial arts so that you can have it when you need it. Remember though, you don't use those skills unless you absolutely have to." Thea said.

"I understand. I just want to be a bad ass like the two of you." Nora said.

"Did you hear that? She thinks we are bad asses." Sara said.

"Don't let your head get too big there." Nora said.

They ate their food as they continued to talk and have a lot of fun. They then left the restaurant and went to the part where Nora just looked around. She had never really been to the park when she could just relax and enjoy the views and the sounds. Her parents never had time for that because they were always too busy with trying to take over the world or something like that.

"This place is beautiful. I have never had the chance to take everything in like this before. My parents were never into this kind of stuff. All they worried about was taking the world over." Nora said.

"Well, now you have the time. We can stay as long as you want to. That is why we did this on a Saturday, so we wouldn't have to rush." Sara said.

"So, what is next on our schedule for today?" Nora asked.

"I was thinking that we could go to a movie or we could go shopping." Thea said.

"I would like to get some clothes that are cool before I start to school in a couple of weeks." Nora said.

"I guess that means we are going shopping then. Don't forget that you will be wearing a uniform in school so there is no reason for you to be buying so many clothes." Sara said.

"I know. Mom and Dad always had me in what looked like dress clothes all the time. I just want some jeans and some t shirts. I don't have anything like that." Nora said.

"Well, we can help you out with that. We can also be you some more clothes for sleeping. It gets hot here in the summer, so you might want so shorts and tank tops to sleep in." Thea said.

"Yeah, I could really use some of those then. So, what do I need to know about this school before I go there?" Nora asked.

"Well, most of the people there are going to be stuck up because they are rich. Those are not the ones that you want to hang out with." Sara said.

"Hey, I was one of those at one point in time." Thea said.

"Well, you still are rich, you just don't act like the others. You have always been friends with me since I moved to this city. It made the move a lot easier." Sara said.

"So, let's go see how much of the mall we can buy." Thea said.

They left to go to the mall and once they got there Nora started to look around to see if she could find a store that would have the kind of clothes that she wanted. Finally, she found what she wanted. She had seen the advertisements on the television, and she liked some of the clothes that she saw.

"Hey, let's go to Old Navy and see what they have." Nora said.

"That is a very good choice. I get clothes from there every once in a while." Thea said.

"Yeah, me too. I like their clothes a lot." Sara said.

"Ok, so I am going to the section with the jeans. I will be back when I find something." Nora said.

Nora went and found a few pair of jeans that she liked and went and tried them on. They all fit her, so then she went to the t shirt section and found some that she liked and went to try them on as well. She then saw a jacket that she liked that reminded her of the kinds of jackets that Sara and Thea wore. Once she had made sure that everything fit, she took it to where Sara and Thea were standing, and they went to check out so that they could leave.

"I think I need a pair of comfortable shoes. We should go by the Nike store." Nora said.

They all walked into the store. Nora went to the shoe section and she found a pair that she liked right away. She tried them on, and she found the one that was a perfect fit. She took them to Sara and Thea and then they went and checked out.

"This was a fun day, but I am kind tired, so I think we can head home now." Nora said and Thea and Sara both nodded.

When they walked into the mansion Oliver and Laurel were setting on a couch relaxing. "Well, that must have been one hell of a day you three have had. I mean look at all of those bags." Laurel said.

"Nora wanted to have some t shirts and some jeans so that she could be more casual than she could in her clothes that her parents always bought for her."

"That makes since. I look forward to finding out what these clothes look like on you." Laurel said.

"I will wear something new tomorrow for you all to see." Nora said.

After talking for a while, everyone decided that it was time to go to bed. Nora, Sara, and Thea were tired because of walking around all day. Oliver and Laurel were tired because of the twins. They were still good babies. They just always needed something, like food and milk or a diaper change.

"Night guys. I will see you tomorrow." Nora said.

Everyone else said at the same time, "Good night." And everyone went their own separate lives.
