Over the next couple of weeks Oliver and Laurel were doing a lot of training with swords just in case they had to go and be a part of the League of Assassins for a little while. Nora had come to terms with who her new mothers, aunt and uncle were as well once she saw all the good that they were actually doing for the city and this made her actually want to help when she was old enough.
"So, it looks like you are getting the hang of using a sword really quick, Laurel. It probably helps that your primary weapon is a bo staff." Talia said.
"Yeah, I thought it would be pretty similar. So, do you think I will be able to make it in the League if I have to go?" Laurel asked.
"I think you will be fine. As long as you keep improving, you will be better than a lot of the people who are there already." Talia said.
"That's good to know. Anything else I should know?" Laurel asked.
"I am going to start working on you with archery as well. You will need that skill to survive there." Talia said.
"I did a little bit of work with that when we first started all of this. I was ok at it. Of course, I was not as good as Ollie and Thea." Laurel said.
"Not many people are as good as those two are. I will make you nearly as good though." Talia said.
"I would like to thank you for all of your help. We all appreciate it, and it is nice to finally meet the woman who did some of Ollie and Thea's training." Laurel said.
"Well, it is nice to meet you as well. I am glad that Oliver finally made it back to you. He talked about you all the time. I am surprised that Thea is not with Tommy Merlyn though. He is all she could talk about." Talia said.
"They were together for a while. Then he decided to take his father's side, so we had to lock him up." Laurel said.
"That makes since. Malcolm Merlyn always struck me as someone who could not be trusted. When I heard that he was the one responsible for what Oliver and Thea were going to be fighting against, it didn't surprise me at all." Talia said.
Oliver walked over when her heard what the women were talking about and said, "It really surprised all of us though, because we grew up around him and he always took care of us."
"It just goes to show you that even if you think that you know someone, you might not know them at all really." Laurel said.
"Couldn't have said it better myself. So, how are things with the children going?" Talia asked.
"Things are great. I mean of course we have to be up at all times of night with them wetting their diapers and getting hungry, but other than that things are great. It also helps to have Sara and Thea there as well. Sometimes we get up and we see they are already there. Nora will be a good helper as well, once she learns more of what needs to be done." Laurel said.
"Yes, I was going to ask about Darhk's daughter. How is she doing?" Talia asked.
"She is fine now. She didn't like it much at the beginning when she found out that we were the vigilantes who took her parents away from her. Once she saw all the good, we were doing though, she changed her tune and she even wants to be trained once she reaches the age that Thea and Sara think that she is ready." Oliver said.
"Well, that is good. I wasn't sure if it was possible to get the girl to be a good person with her parentage. I am hoping that once this is over, I can change my sister so that she is not the same as our father." Talia said.
"I am sure that you can get through to her. So, when do you think we will hear something about the League?" Oliver asked.
"I don't know. You probably have a couple of months to continue to train." Talia said.
"And why is it that your father will be coming for Ollie again?" Laurel asked.
"For one, father always tries to recruit the best warriors in the world. That list will include most of your team. The second reason is that your team was able to defeat Darhk, which is something that he has not been able to do himself. The third thing is, father will be looking for a heir, and Oliver would be the perfect heir." Talia said.
"So, this is all because he is looking for a replacement?" Oliver asked.
"Yes, and there is no saying no to Ras Al Ghul. He will make you go one way or the other, or you will have to challenge him to a trail by combat. Either way you are Ras for a certain amount of time." Talia said.
"I don't want anything to do with it." Oliver said.
"That is why hopefully by the time the League arrives I will have trained you enough to where you can challenge father and not have to leave your city at all." Talia said.
"Well, in that case let's work some more. I need to make sure that everyone in this city is safe from the League." Oliver said.
"You are well on your way Oliver. I will continue to train you until the day father comes though. I am sure he already has scouts here checking your team out." Talia said.
"Well, I hope we are giving him a good show then. I am going to go and check on the kids. You two can train for a while longer if you want." Laurel said as she left to go over and check on the kids.
"I like her. She is a perfect match for you. If you were to be Ras Al Ghul, you two would rule the League in a way that it has never been led before. It would be a League of Heroes." Talia said.
"Well, you don't have to worry about that." Oliver said as they got to work on training with swords for a bit longer.
