Oliver was in his office the next day at QC and he a few meetings before he could head home and spend some time with his family. The team had the night off because they had just taken down Ras and Oliver thought that they should all relax before the next bad guy showed up because they knew that someone would come sooner of later. It was just the way that things worked.

His next meeting was with a young woman named Emiko Adachi and she looked like she was very qualified for the job that she was applying for. As she walked into the room, he couldn't help but notice that she looked like she was upset about something. Oliver didn't want to get into her business, but he wanted to make sure that she was ok.

"Are you ok Ms. Adachi? You look like you are upset about something." Oliver said.

"I am fine. Just had a bit of a rough morning." Emiko said.

"Ok, so let's get started. I have looked over your resume and it looked like you are qualified for the job that you are applying for in applied sciences. More so than anyone else that has come in to interview today. So, tell me a bit about yourself." Oliver said.

"Well, I went to Star City University and got my undergraduate degree and master's in applied sciences. I tried to apply here when your father was still her and he didn't seem to like me that much." Emiko said.

"I am sorry to hear that, because what I see and hear from you shows me that you would be good in this position. There is one thing that I need to know though." Oliver said.

"And what might that be?" Emiko asked.

"I want to know why you didn't tell me the most important information out of everything that you could have said." Oliver said.

"I don't know what you are talking about." Emiko said.

"When Thea and I got back from our five years away, we were given everything that belonged to our parents. We found out about this storage locker that they have, and we went to look through everything and see if there was anything there that we would need. The surprising thing was that we found an envelope in the locker that was addressed to Walter Steele, the CEO of the company. The letter never made it to him for some reason. The letter told him about a daughter that my dad had and asked him to provide for the mother and daughter. That daughter would be you. So anyways, what are you really here for?" Oliver asked.

"Well, I guess my game is up before I even start it. I was here to sabotage the company and take everything from you. I guess that won't happen now that you know what I am really here for." Emiko said.

"Truth be told. I probably shouldn't even consider you for the job because of why you are really here, but I am a very family-oriented person, and I am sure that dad didn't want to leave you the way that he did. That sounds like my mom's doing. Anyways, I would like to get to know you and maybe we could become family one day like we always should have been." Oliver said.

"I would like nothing more than that, but how am I supposed to know that you just aren't trying to trick me in some way." Emiko said.

"I have no interest in playing games Emiko. I have too much to do to worry about that kind of stuff. If you can come in here and work like you are supposed to and don't cause any trouble, I would like to offer you the job since this is where all of us Queens belong anyways." Oliver said.

"If that is the case then why isn't your other sister working here?" Emiko asked.

"Actually, it is being announced today that Thea is joining the company. So, if you are interested in working for the family business and getting to know your siblings, we are happy to welcome you aboard." Oliver said.

"Can I have some time to think about it?" Emiko asked.

"Take your time. Also, why don't you and your mother come to have dinner with us tonight at the mansion. Everyone in the family will be there." Oliver said.

"I will think about it. Why are you being so nice to me when I told you what my plan was?" Emiko asked.

"All of that time when I was away, it taught me what was really important and that is family. You are a part of that even though my parents didn't feel that way. Thea and I are trying to be better than they were." Oliver said.

"Why didn't you reach out before now though?" Emiko asked.

"The truth is, we were going to try, but when we tried to find out where you lived, we could find any records of you living anywhere in the city. We found where your mom lived but we could never find anything on you though." Oliver said.

"I guess that makes since. I have been out of the country for the past few years. I don't have a permanent residence in the city." Emiko said.

"So, do you believe me now or are you still skeptical of me?" Oliver asked.

"I am starting to believe you. You do seem very different from your mother and our father. What would Thea think?" Emiko asked.

"She always wanted a sister. She has been looking forward to meeting you, but she was in the same boat as me when it came to tracking you down." Oliver said.

"I will try to be a part of the family, and I will take the job here. I am looking at sticking around for a while." Emiko said.

"That is good. So, will we be seeing you for dinner tonight?" Oliver asked.

"Let's not push this along to fast. Let's start off with work first and then maybe if things go well here, we can do the whole family thing." Emiko said.

"I can agree with that. Well, welcome aboard. I will see you bright and early Monday morning." Oliver said as he shook Emiko's hand, and she left the office.

Oliver already knew what was going to happen with the company within the next week. Walter was ready to retire, which meant that he would most likely be named CEO of the company. He was still trying to talk Thea into taking the job but that wasn't going well. There was actually a press conference setup for later that day to announce everything.

When the press had all assembled, Walter walked up to the podium and said, "Good evening everyone. I am glad you all could make it. We are here today because we have a few announcements to make regarding the company. First, I would like to say that I am retiring as CEO of QC."

"Who will take you place Mr. Steele?" Susan Williams asked.

"That was my second announcement. The new CEO will be Oliver Queen, who has been acting as my vice CEO for a while now." Walter said.

"Who will be taking his place?" Williams asked.

"Well, this person was going to come in and be the new head of applied sciences, but since I am retiring, she will be taking Oliver's place. The new Vice CEO will be Thea Queen." Walter said.

"Well, that still leaves the head of applied sciences open. What will you do about that?" Williams asked.

"We actually hired someone today. Her name is Emiko Adachi, and she had a degree and master's in applied sciences. So, she is very qualified for the position. That will be all for now. Thank you for your time." Walter said as he walked away from the podium leaving behind all of the questions being asked by the press.
