Chapter 10

"We should get going you have track walk" I say
"Come with me"-L
"I never go on track walks it'll look weird"-Y/n.
"No it wouldn't, I'll make up an excuse if anyone asks I promise"-L
"Ok ok I'll come but if anyone asks you talk, I'm a bad liar."- I say opening the door.
Lando jumps in front of the door blocking it
"Wait before we go I want a kiss" he says leaning in kissing me.
"Lando Norris you can't just kiss me every 5 minutes" I say pulling away smiling.
"Says who" he giggles opening the door and walking out the room.
We walk to the McLaren garage fighting the urge to hold hands. As we come close to the garage lando looks around making sure no one is around. Once he sees no one is near enough to see us he grabs me and hugs me tightly.
"You know how beautiful you are right?"-L
"Lando you can't flirt with me in public what if people see or hear us" I say worried.
"I know I'm sorry" he says pulling away sadly.
We walk around the track and just as I think no one noticed me the race engineer talked.
"Not to be rude but y/n why are you here, you never do track walks" he asks.
"I asked her to come because She had nothing to do and she would've been lonely" Jon says before lando can answer.
I softly smile at the engineer
"Oh ok, well just know you are always welcome join if you don't want to be alone" he says.
As you finish the track walk we walk back to the McLaren motor home for an engineers meeting. The whole meeting I feel Landos eyes burning onto me.
"Lando pay attention" -Jon laughs
"Ya ya I'm listening" he says not taking his eyes off of me.
"Excuse me, I have somewhere to be" I say getting up from the table as I feel the butterflies in my stomach growing each second lando keeps looking at me. I walk to landos room feelings hotter than usual due to landos intense staring. I change from my McLaren uniform into shorts and a crop top to cool down.
"Finally done" lando says walking into the room closing the door behind him.
"Oh hey, how was it?" I ask
"Well good until you left, after that just boring" he smiles.
"I had to leave, you where staring at me, it was very intense" I laugh
"Ya sorry about that, I'll try stop" he laughs back.
"Well you have the evening off so, I'll se you tomorrow at 11 for warm up with Jon" I say walking towards the door.
"So that's it? Your leaving me again"-L
"Well I mean what else am I meant to do?"I ask
"We could go for a walk by the beach for sunset" he suggests
"Ohh your romantic" I giggle.
"Ya ok fine then just go back to the hotel." He says annoyed
"No we can go on a walk" I say confused.
"No it's fine, I try make an effort here but you just take it as a joke and laugh it off" he says packing his bag not looking at me.
"Lando dont be dramatic, I'd love to go for a walk" I say apologetically
"It's fine really, I don't want to now anyways"-L
"It's so romantic" he says in a girly accent.
"Really? Your going to be like, I made one stupid joke!!"I say annoyed.
"You don't get, I've wanted you since the night I've met you, and now that I have my chance and I am actually trying you aren't taking it seriously."-L
"Walk by your fucking self then, or better again go on a walk with some super model, considering you can. I mean you are lando norris, you can have any girl you want. So go ahead, go on a beach walk with someone else" I shout walking out of the room.

I walk back to my hotel room by myself. I can't help but think why he made such a big deal out of one small joke. He makes stupid jokes like that all the time? Why was it so different now. Once I get to my room I go for a shower and change into comfier shorts and the same top. I sit on my bed and scroll through my socials. After a few minutes there's a knock on my door. I get up to open it and walk slowly. Lando is on the other side.
"What do you want" I say still annoyed that he overreacted.
"You" he says with puppy eyes looking down at me.
"Oh please" I say rolling my eyes.
"Just,- walk with me?" He asks
"No, last time you even mentioned a walk we ended up fighting" I say Walking into my hotel room with lando following.
"The first night we met, we walked by the beach to watch the sunset" he says.
I turn and look at him in shock.
"You remember that?" I ask.
"Yup, but I guess you don't like walks as much anymore" he smiles
"I actually love walks, just you overreacted" I say getting annoyed again.
"You basically made fun of me for even suggesting it" he said now annoyed too
"No I didn't !! I said it was romantic, how is that making fun of you!" I say with a raised voice.
"Because you said it sarcastically" he yelled
"That's just the way I fucking talk" I yelled back
"Ahhh sometimes you are so clueless" he answered still yelling.
"Good thing I have a job interview at Williams, I might finally get to fucking leave, then you can go walk with your next assistant" I yelled back instantly regretting it.
"You have a what where" he said in a more worried tone but still raising his voice.
"Oh get over it" I say rolling my eyes
"No no, fuck no. I'm not letting you work with George." He says yelling again.
"You don't get to say?! Your not my parent, you have no control over me" I yell back at him.
"Why are you yelling at Me" he yells
"Because your yelling at me" I shout.
Lando doesn't answer as he sits on the bed infront of me.
"I thought you said you weren't leaving?" He asks in a much calmer tone.
"I wasn't, and then I told you I loved you, and you told me you loved me back, which now I'm sure was even true, but our contract doesn't let us be together, so I asked Williams if I could have a second chance and they gave me an interview" I explain sitting on the floor infront of him.
"Forget about it. I won't let you. He hurt you y/n. And of course I love you. Why don't you believe me?" -L
"I don't know, you yelled at me over a stupid fucking walk on the beach" I say
Silence fills the room for 10 minutes. Thinking about what just happened I feel tears burning my eyes. I avoid eye contact with lando looking down at my knees.
"I do love you" he says ina reassuring voice.
"It's late and you have warm up at 11 maybe you should go to sleep" I say whipping tears off my face.
"Wait are you crying." He asks worried.
"It's late" I say ignoring whipping more tears.
"Baby don't ignore me, look at me please" he says coming closer to me.
"I'm fine honestly, you should sleep." I say getting up walking to the door.
"No not until you talk to me, come here" he says coming close enough to me whipping my tears away for me.
"I'm just being dramatic really, and I'm tired so it's nothing." I say opening the door.
"Ok, but call me if you need me" he says walking out the door as I close it being him without answering.
