I was at the airport waiting for my delayed flight texting lando. He send me a text explaining that if I wanted I could bring some things to his house to myself feel more at home. In that moment I panic.
*I would love to x I'll put the key back under the flowers once I'm done, if you want I can take some stuff of yours to my house for you too? X -Y/n 5:07pm
Lando didn't text me back until I was back in England, but I get that, after the race everyone goes for dinner so he was busy.
*Perfect, you can take some cloths from my wardrobe and there is a spare tooth brush under my skin in the cabinet you can take that too x I love you. You can put your stuff where ever you find space, I'm sure the bedside table on the left of the bed is empty so what ever you want to put in there it's all yours x - Lando 10:30pm.
The next morning I wake up and pack a small bag for landos. Nothing too much, a toothbrush, some deodorant, two outfits, a hairbrush and a phone charger. I take the short drive to his house and find the keys under some orange roses outside his front door. I stop and think maybe we are moving to fast. What if it doesn't work out? I take a deep breath and go inside. I put my stuff away and take some of his cloths and a toothbrush and pack them into my bag to take back to my house for him. On my way out I go to the kitchen and write him a little note and leave it on the table.

I lock the door and put the key back where I found it. I go home and unpack landos things and put them away. I make dinner and watch some Netflix. After I feel kind of tired so I shower and head to bed. I wake up at 2:00am to my phone buzzing. I answer it without even looking at who's calling. "Hello?" "I'm sorry did I wake you" lando says on the other side of the phone. "I mean it's 2am so yes" "I'm sorry I'll leave you sleep" "No no, I'm awake now, what did you want to say?" "Nothing, I just landed and wanted to talk to you" "Are you home yet?" "No sitting in the car in the airport car park" "How was your flight?" "Boring, Jon fell asleep so I didn't have anyone to talk to" "Mmmm" I hum half asleep "Your sleeping" "No, no I'm not I'm just- shut up I'm awake" I giggle "Ok, well I'm going to let you sleep and I'm going to go home but I wanted to ask maybe we could get lunch tomorrow?" "Sounds good, what time?" "2pm?, I'll pick you up at your house" "I'll send you my address"
Once the call ends I send lando my address straight away and fall back to sleep. I wake up late the next morning and only have two hours to get ready for lunch. I pick out a girly outfit and let my hair hang down over my shoulders. It's warm outside so I don't put makeup on. Outfit:

After a few minutes I hear a knock on the door. I grab my phone and open it to see lando standing with a shocked look on his face. "Are you ok" I laugh "You live in a really nice house, all alone?" "Yep, McLaren pay for it so I can be close to work, I have my own apartment back in Manchester, but for work I need to be in Woking sooo, free house" I smile. "They gave you a nicer house than they gave to me" lando says as I lock my front door. "They like me more" I joke. We walk to his car and he opens the door for me. We drive to a small restaurant in the country side. I walk in to see everyone dressed up in heels and makeup. "You could have told me it was a posh restaurant, I would've put makeup on" I say shyly as we walk to our table. "You look better than most people in here be quite" "Shut up" "You can't say that, it's a posh restaurant remember" he winks We sit at a small two seat table by the window over looking the view. "The bruising on your eye is getting a lot better" "Thanks for pointing that out, really happy you brought that memory back into my head" "No I didn't mean it in a bad way, I just mean it's healing, it's a good thing" I don't answer, I feel awkward when people point out the marks George left on me. I sit in silence looking out the window trying to forget the memories of the elevator that rush back into my head. "I'm sorry I-" "No it's fine really, I get it you where trying to be nice" I smile. "I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be back. Excuse me" I say getting up and walking to the bathroom. I let the tears ive been folding back out and whip them away quickly after. I splash my face with cold water to get red of the red tear stains on my cheeks. I take a deep breath and walk back out. "Ready to go?" Lando asks "Ya think so" "Ok let's go" he takes my hand and starts to walk "We have to pay?" "I paid" "For both of us?" "Ya...? Was I not meant to?" "Well no, I thought we would split the bill" "No need" We walk out hand in hand. I sit in silence in the car ride until we reach the McLaren technology center. "Do you have work, or are you going home?" I ask "No I have one meeting." "Oh ok, well I have paper work so I'll be in my office if you need anything" I say and walk to my office. I try to focus on work but I can't. I take concealer out of my bag and start to apply it around my eye. Once the bruise is covered I go back to doing paper work. "Can you come to my office when ever your ready?" Zak asks as he pops his head In my door. "Sure I'll be there soon" I say I finish the paper I'm on and head to zaks office. Once I walk in I see lando sitting on one chair and zak behind his desk. "Take a seat" zak smiles. "Is this the part you tell me today's my last day?" I giggle nervously while taking a seat next to lando. He looks at my covered eye and frowns his eyebrows. "You covered it" he mouths to me. I nod my head sadly. "Ok, so lando talked to me about the contract and about you two being together" My leg starts to bounce up and down with nerves. Lando notices and places his hand just above my knee to calm me down. I place my hand on top of his and interlock our fingers "I have talked to a lot of people, and explained that it isn't only for the two of you but for anyone in the team that is involved with another team member" My nerves start to take over and my hands start to go sweaty. "And with all the power I have, I'm so sorry, but I can't change the contract." I close my eyes and let my head fall back. In that moment all I wanted to do was break down and cry. But I couldn't. Lando squeezes my hand and let's out a sigh. "Thank you for trying" I say smile and letting go of landos hand. I take a deep breath and stand up. When I go to walk away I feel landos hand wrap around my waist to stop me. "Lando, we can't" "I'm going to give you to a minute" zak says leaving the room.
