"How's school? Are you keeping your grades up?" Carter nodded and with a frown, "Yeah, but they won't let me join any of their academics programs. I'm the smartest kid in my class. Probably in my grade, yet they settle for a nose-picking chump like Daniel Presley." She complained. Yep, that's my daughter.

"Then, prove them all wrong. Make them wish they picked you." I smiled and took out my phone, "I also took some pictures while I was gone. Look at this." I pushed the phone to her, letting her view all the pictures I took of the views from the compound and the tower. She gasped in awe. "Looks like you're living the life, Ma."

Her voice sank while she tried to keep a smile. I shook my head in reassurance, "I hate it there. I miss being with you. I miss hugging and teasing you." I tickled her sides in a laugh. Bucky chuckled as he watched us.

"Speaking of, how are the Avengers? Are they cool?" I rolled my eyes and looked at Bucky. He smiled back before speaking up, "Hell yeah, we're cool. Who else can fight aliens and robots and other weird-looking bad guys?"

Carter sighed through her nose, "Anyone can do that with powers or super strength. Y'all are nothing but glorified action figures." I hid my laugher as Bucky's mouth flew open. "How old are you? Like 7?"

"I'm 14. Thank you very much. Anyway, " She turned back towards me, "What's Stark technology like up close?" I knew she would geek out about it. She loved working with her hands, so she always wanted to design her own software and technology like Stark. He was one of her many role models.

"It's way better than I expected. The things I've seen it do, Carter. You would be blown away."

"You got to let me meet him!" She exclaimed. I shook my head and sat back on the couch, "I don't think that's a good idea. Not right now anyway," I sighed. "But, I promise you'll meet him when all this blows over." She nodded and sat down on the couch.

"When it does, can I move in with you? Where ever you go, I wanna be by your side, Ma." I smiled and nodded. I didn't know what I was going to do after I finished Hydra off for good. I didn't have the qualifications to get a job, though I didn't need them. With the amount of money I made while taking hitman jobs, I could buy a house, a car, and put Carter through the best college.

"Of course, you can."

"Is your friend coming too?" She nodded towards Bucky, who squinted at her. I shook my head, "He's not a friend, and we haven't talked about it yet."

"She means I'm more than a friend," Bucky admitted. Carter faking threw up in her mouth and chuckled. "You're my least favorite Avenger."

"Jokes on you. I'm not even an Avenger." Bucky snapped back frowning. He looked back out the window and smirked to himself. "Good. I could see why."
