There were certain situations where it was easier to control the energy in me. I could control it to the point where it felt like I was normal. Yet, I had my days where I wanted to be released. Days where I pushed it down for so long that it bubbled over its lid. Today was it.

I didn't hate the Avengers, but I also didn't like them. They did shit like this, and it made me furious. They were arrogant and overpraised. They saved Earth from aliens. Great! Now it's time to worry about the people on it. I've killed men and women who want to destroy communities, bury their demons by killing people who know them, and create monsters like me.

These are the people The Avengers shake hands with. People they defend.

Two men walked me to the room I should rot in while waiting for Fury to use me as a weapon. And to think, I was going to eventually ask him for help. How careless of me.

I pushed my hands to one of the men. He looked down at them. "Take them off," I mumbled. "I won't hurt anyone." The man sighed and said, "That's Tony's job. Ask him to do it." He stepped away and looked at the other man. "Sam, let's go." Sam glanced up and me and nodded. His eyes drifted to the cuffs and inhaled.

He empathizes with me, yet he still fears me. Understandable.

"I'll bring you Stark." Sam closed the door behind him. I sucked in a breath before slamming the cuffs against the wall. Pure steel clings back. I did it again only to have the same results.

I sighed and sat on the floor. For once in my life, I was defeated and didn't have a solution.

"I don't think that was a good idea, Steve, " I mumbled, "We shouldn't use her daughter as leverage."

Steve just took his head and turned to me. "There is no leverage with people like her. She's a serial killer."

"So am I." I stared at him as he started back. I don't understand how his feeling can change so quickly. Before, he was speaking about her like they were siblings. Now, he wouldn't even look in her direction.

"This is different, Buck." Before I could say anything, another voice poured into the room.

"Boys, " I turned to see Nat at the door. "Fury wants everyone." I nodded and placed my hands in my jacket. "I've done worse and you know it."

I walked away and into the room where the rest of them stood. "You good?" Sam asked. I nodded and looked down. Steve came into the room a second later. I could his eyes watching me, but I ignored it and listened to Fury.

"If Y/N is right about Hydra, then we have to stop them. Again." Fury sat in his seat. "They have a couple of files that makes this situation a million times worse."

"What's on the files?" Steve asked.

"Stuff." Fury replied in a serious tone. He placed his hand on the table. "Just know that if Hydra has them and goes through with whatever plan Y/N knows about, then everyone in this room is screwed alongside everyone else on Earth."

"And why does the Emo chick have to stay with us again?" Tony questioned as he stepped into the room with Y/N. She was sending everyone a glare. The room grew quiet.

"She's resourceful. Hydra isn't expecting the Avengers. Only her. She gets us closer to the files."

Y/N chuckled and looked over at Fury. "I'm not doing shit until I'm out of these cuffs."

Fury and Tony exchanged looks before he unlocked her hands. She rubbed her wrist, calming the burning sensation. "Not so fast, Barbie."

Tony took an electric bead from his pocket and placed it on her neck. It clawed into her skin, but she just stood there. Blue flashes came from the side of her neck. "One wrong move and you'll be fried. Courtesy of nanotechnology." Y/N rolled her eyes.
