A/N: for the first time in forever ... a NEW CHAPTER :DD
hope yall like it!!! there's a pretty big reveal in here, lmk if yall saw it coming ;) (granted it's only implied but reading between the lines is fun isn't it? uwu)——
"Does that matter to you?" Izuku's grin was obvious in his voice.
It never took much to irritate Katsuki. "Does it matter to me?! Does it fucking— Of course it matters to me, you moron!" He yelled. Well, it wasn't really yelling since it was the middle of the night, and Katsuki really didn't feel like waking up all of U.A.
Izuku chuckled. Silence quickly returned between them.
He was considering it though, Katsuki did seem like he'd change. He knew he shouldn't tell the blonde about his- their- plans, but he was already so close to revealing these things to the other. But Izuku was certain that Katsuki'd keep quiet about it. That is only if what the blonde had claimed earlier, that he'd be on Izuku's side no matter what and all that, was true.
Izuku's silence made Katsuki uncomfortable. He sighed. "Fine, then don't answer that one, but-" Katsuki looked at the floor, "how are you here now?"
Izuku laughed again. "You know what? I will tell you."
Katsuki's eyes widened. "Really?" If Izuku didn't hate him, he'd almost find the blonde's smile pretty.
Izuku's grin turned grim. "Uh-huh," he glanced to the side, "under one condition, though."
Katsuki couldn't describe how he felt right now if someone'd asked. "What is it?" He'd probably do just about anything for the guy in front of him right now, for a number of reasons (some of which Katsuki hasn't even admitted to himself yet though).
Izuku's grotesque grin would've probably been disturbing to anyone. Not Katsuki though, he was just happy that he could see the greenette again.
"Hm, which question should I answer first? Especially when all the answers overlap-" Izuku's unsettling smile never faltered. He wasn't facing Katsuki anymore. Katsuki felt lucky, yet he also felt like somehow this was going to end terribly.
"I don't care what you tell me first." Katsuki was just relieved that he was going to get answers at all.
Izuku's expression was blank again, when he turned around towards the blonde once more. "Guess I'll start at the beginning then..."
And that's exactly what he did.
He told Katsuki about the last day of his old live. He told Katsuki about how he really did try to kill himself. He told Katsuki about how he woke up in a weird room he'd never seen before. He told him about the people who'd saved him, the people he now considers his friends. He told him about how one of them, their leader, had been so kind to grant him one or two quirks. And this was where Katsuki'd interrupted him.
"Someone gave you a quirk?! Was it- It wasn't All for One, was it?!" Katsuki was shocked. But then again, who wouldn't be?
Izuku nodded. "Why's that such a big deal to you? How else did you think I got my quirk?"
Katsuki was quiet, he shrugged, looking down.
"Well, what did you even have to do with All for One?"
Oh. "You couldn't guess?" Izuku'd thought this was obvious.
"Huh-? Guess what?" Katsuki was getting a bad feeling about this.
The immeasurable joy Izuku felt in that moment was unrivaled. The slight unhinged glint in his eyes, the crooked smile, the maniacal expression on his face- Katsuki hoped he wouldn't regret having asked.
"Those friends I mentioned, the ones that saved me," Izuku spoke, "You really can't guess who they are?" Katsuki hesitantly shook his head. Izuku's grin grew ever so slightly wider. "Well, you know- you've met them before."
Katsuki hoped Izuku wasn't talking about- No, there's no way. Izuku couldn't be talking about the- But it would make so much sense..? But it's Izuku we're talking about- Sweet, little Izuku would never in a million years-
But then again, did Katsuki even really know the guy in front of him anymore? Sure, they used to be friends- but that friendship was nothing other than dead, at this point.
Katsuki didn't want to consider it an option, a mere possibility that Izuku could mean- he would never mean them, right? — the League of Villains.
Katsuki swallowed, and looked up at Izuku again. "Please," he paused— what was he asking for? He took a deep breath. "Please, tell me you don't mean-"
"The League of Villains?" Izuku's grin seemed frozen on his face. "Then, I'm gonna have to disappoint you, my friend~"
Katsuki, once again, felt like world around him shattered, like everything paused, frozen in place. But he immediately started metaphorically picking up the broken shards of reality again, and quickly snapped out of this shocked state.
The world wouldn't wait for him to collect himself again.
And he'd just returned to reality in time, because Izuku also didn't wait for him to process what he'd just found out to continue talking.
Izuku went on to tell Katsuki about the quirk he got, an emitter-type quirk that allows him to manipulate electronic devices within a 200 meter radius. He even jokingly offered to give Katsuki a demonstration, while pointing at the blonde's phone in his pocket- although he didn't give Katsuki a chance to accept or deny.
He then told Katsuki about the other Hero schools he's been to-
And again, Katsuki was shocked, but not quite as much. All of the Hero schools that were mentioned had recently either been attacked by villains- although it's noteworthy to mention that those villains weren't always necessarily connected to the League of Villains directly- or they had experienced big, seemingly-unexplainable security, and data leaks.
But how could no one tell it was Izuku? Isn't it suspicious to get a new student with a quirk like his, and almost immediately after technology starts malfunctioning? Sending locations to villains, leaking data, and so on...
That was when Katsuki remembered.'He told him about how one of them, their leader, had been so kind to grant him one or two quirks.'
Did- Did Izuku have more than one quirk? No way. Right? Katsuki looked away, uncertainty creeping up on him. Katsuki had to be careful not to get lost in thought, not to accidentally tune out Izuku's voice.
