I woke up with some pain. My stomach is extremely sore and nauseous. Apparently, my appendix was so bad they had to fully cut me open. I had huge staples holding the incision and got those taken out yesterday.

I turned slightly and hit a body- Calum's body. He came out here as soon as he heard I was having surgery and hasn't left. The poor guys had to help a lot. He had to help me go to the bathroom and bathe. And he's dealt with my crying when I was in pain,

"Good morning" Calum spoke, his voice rough and raspy since he just woke up,

"Morning" I yawned,

"You feel okay?" he questioned, propping himself up on his elbow. I nodded and he leaned down and pecked my lips,

"You know, part of me is glad you were here when this happened because I would have been freaking the fuck out," he told me. I laughed,

"I know you would. I got Covid and you treated me like I was going to fall apart"

"What can I say, I love you and I don't want anything to happen to you"

"I love you too" I smiled, "Now lay the fuck back down and cuddle me"

Calum chuckled and rested an arm over me, careful of where my staples were.

"Adley, why don't you come outside? You've been cooped up here for a while" Dad suggested. Calum and I have been spending all our time in my room. It's not like I can do much. We've spent so much time in here that we brought Trent's Xbox in and built an entire city in Minecraft,

"Yeah honey" Mom added, "You can sit in the chair by the pool with the umbrella"

I nodded and Calum helped me sit up,

"Remember she can't walk down the stairs" Dad called to Calum as he and my mom left the room. Calum laughed and went to grab me some clothes. He came back with my bathing suit and helped me stand before helping me change,

"If you weren't hurt, I probably would've gone down on you doing this" he smirked making my cheeks heat up,

"Guess you'll have to make up for it when we got back to Cali and I'm healed" I smirked back. Calum chuckled and pinched my thigh playfully,

Once Calum changed, he grabbed two bucket hats, putting one on his head and one on mine. Then he carefully picked me up and carried me down the stairs before setting me on my feet to walk. His hand rested on my lower back as he leaned onto my left side due to the soreness on my right.

We got outside and I walked over to our chair that was under the umbrella. It was big so Calum and I could both sit on it. My mom and dad were across from us at the table,

"Do you know when they want to start basketball back up?" Mom asked, looking up from the papers she had in front of her,

"He said we're starting in August no matter what" I shrugged, "Which forms are those?"

"Housing" Dad mumbled. I nodded and Calum lightly nudged me,

"I'm going to live at the dorms again. It's just easier with basketball" I explained to my boyfriend, his sad expression making me frown, "But I'll come stay with you every weekend"

He smiled lightly and kissed my head. I know it'll be weird when I go back considering Calum and I are together all the time right now.

Once my parents went inside, Calum laid down more and cuddled me. He doesn't like cuddling me like we normally do when my parents are around- which I COMPLETELY understand. It would be awkward,

"Hey Addie" Calum spoke, his fingers running through my hair, "I was thinking that when we get back to Cali, we should go on a little road trip"

"Where?" I hummed, very fond of the idea,

"Just around the state of California"

"Yes! We should. That'll be fun" I grinned,

"Yeah? Damn think of all the car sex we'll have"

I gasped and hit his chest,

"You are so dirty-minded today" I laughed,

"Sorry. I hadn't seen you in a while and now I'm with you and we can't have sex here so"

"Dear god Cal" I chuckled with a shake of my head,

"But seriously babe, you cool with a road trip?" He pressed his lips to my head,

"Definitely"
