Since I didn't have class today, I scheduled my first doctor's appointment for the baby for today. Calum also didn't have anything for the band so he was getting to come with.

When I got out of bed finally, I tossed a hoodie on and walked out to the kitchen, finding Calum at the stove. His back was to me so he hadn't seen me yet. I walked up behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist, kissing his clothed back,

"Hey baby. I didn't hear you get up" he chuckled, glancing over his shoulder,

"I just got up," I told him,

"I'm making breakfast now. Want some?" he then asked, patting my hands that rested on his stomach,

"Yes please," I hummed. I could tell he nodded and I pulled away from him, going and sitting at the breakfast bar,

"What time is the doctor again?" Calum asked as he glanced back at me,

"Two" I yawned, "You're still coming right?"

"Yeah of course I am. I was just making sure because I've got a workout scheduled for 11:30"

I nodded as Calum started putting food on a plate. He handed me one then grabbed his own and sat next to me,

"Will they be able to tell how far along you might be at this appointment?" he asked,

"I think so" I shrugged, "But I'm guessing maybe three or four weeks based on my period, which means that test I took a couple of weeks ago was wrong"

"Damn" Calum breathed out, "Hopefully these positive ones were right"

"I hope"

I took a warm shower after breakfast. As I stepped out of the water, I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my body. I dried off and pulled on a pair of shorts and a sports bra.

As I went to dry my hair, I stopped for a moment and looked in the mirror. I smiled and turned to the side, letting my hands wander to my stomach. I was so focused that I didn't know Calum had walked in until he spoke,

"Whatcha doing baby?"

I turned around to face him as he walked closer, lightly grabbing my hips,

"There's a baby in there" I laughed,

"I know" he smiled and let one of his hands rest on my stomach,

"Sorry I showered without you" I apologized. Since the beginning of quarantine and living here with Calum, we've hardly ever not taken baths or showers together,

"It's okay. I still have my workout anyway" he smiled and pressed a kiss to my lips, "Speaking of, I was coming to tell you I'm heading out back to do my workout. Jesse just got here"

"Okay. I'm going to dry my hair then I might come to sit out back and do some homework. I have a paper due Sunday night at midnight so I need to work on that"

Calum nodded and gave me one more kiss before heading out which allowed me to dry my hair.

Once my hair was dry, I pulled a long sleeve shirt on and grabbed my computer before heading out back with Duke.

As I took a seat on the chair, Calum waved. I waved back and he and Jesse got back into their workout and I did my paper.

"I'm so excited" Calum sang as he pulled into the parking garage of the doctor's office complex. I laughed and let my hand rest on his thigh,

'I'm kinda nervous" I spoke as we tried to find a parking spot, "What if something is wrong? Or what if we have another miscarriage?"

Calum took a breath and glanced at me,

"We can't think like that," he told me, "We have to keep positive"

I nodded and sat back as he backed into a spot on the fourth level, which happened to be the level the doctor was on.

I grabbed all the papers I was supposed to fill out and bring, then Calum and I put our masks on and got out.

We got inside and I signed in then Calum and I took a seat to wait. I was shocked at how crowded the office was. Most doctors offices won't even let you wait in the waiting room because of Covid. You have to wait in your car instead.

Calum had my hand the whole time we sat there waiting. He kept using his thumb to rub circles to keep me calm.

Finally, the door opened and a nurse walked out,

"Adaline Slater?"

Calum and I got up and we followed her back to a room. She had me sit up on the exam table and Calum sat in the chair next to it, still holding my hand. The nurse sat in front of the computer and started typing a bunch of stuff in.

"So you took at-home pregnancy tests?" she questioned,

"I did" I nodded and gave Calum's hand a squeeze,

"How many of those came back positive?"

"All of them. I think I've taken about ten total"

The nurse nodded then got up. I got a basic check-up then she had me lay back,

"I have to do a pelvic exam. Since you've never had a Pap smear or anything done, it's going to be weird" she warned. I nodded and closed my eyes and Calum he'd my hand tightly.

Once the nurse was done, she took my blood and handed me a cup,

"I'm going to have you pee in the cup. I'll take both that and your blood sample to the lab and run it. Then your doctor will come in and talk to you" she explained. I nodded and followed her to the bathroom, doing what I needed, then returning back to the room with Calum.

"I'm sweating" he laughed. I cracked a grin.

After a long wait, the doctor came in,

"How are you all doing? I'm Dr. Haynes" she introduced,

"Adley and this is my boyfriend, Calum"

"It's nice to meet you all" she smiled. She had a clear mask on so we were able to see her full emotion,

"So I looked over the tests, and you are indeed pregnant"

My mouth dropped and I looked at Calum. He was already looking at me,

"And based on all estimations and such, you're about nine weeks"

I gasped,

"Mhm" she smiled, "I'm going to do an ultrasound today because we should be able to hear a heartbeat but first I just want to talk"

I nodded,

"I see in your records you've had a miscarriage and it was around this time. I see no sign of that happening but we do just have to keep an eye out for odd feelings and such" she told me "Now, I'll be your doctor this whole time. I'll be your delivery doctor too. I promise you'll be well taken care of"

We went over a few more things then she had me lay back as she started doing the ultrasound. I didn't know the first one wasn't done on the outside so that took me by surprise.

As she started, Calum and I were staring at the screen, both gasping when we saw a small blob-like thing pop on the screen,

"There's the baby" Dr. Haynes smiled then hit a button and the sound of a heartbeat filled the room,

"Oh my god" I teared as I looked to Calum who was full blown crying,

"Congratulations you two"
