Adaline Slater, better known as Adley, is the 19 year old UCLA student-athlete. Her normal life has clashed with her rockstar boyfriend Calum Hood. She's younger than Calum, so how do his friends deal with that? Do people only see the relationship...
"First day!" Miya ran in my room, jumping on my bed,
"I know" I groaned, sitting up slowly,
"Get dressed" she sang and left my room, closing the door behind her.
I got out of bed and opened up my drawers to find clothes for the day. It was actually a chillier day today so I settled on ripped jeans, a white bralette, and a brownish sweater that hung off my shoulder.
I headed into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and did my hair and makeup. It actually felt good to get up and get ready. It's the first time since the miscarriage that I've actually gotten ready with makeup and everything.
I walked back into my room and took a picture in the mirror to post, just as Calum's contact came across the screen,
"Hey babe" I smiled as I answered, his face popping up on the screen,
"Hi baby. You look cute" he smiled,
"Thanks. I just took a pic and I'm about to post so go hype me up" I chuckled and put him on split-screen with Instagram,

"I just liked and commented, although that caption may make me break up with you" Calum chuckled and I put him back on the big screen, "How are you feeling today?"
"Good actually. I got up and actually got ready"
"Proud of you baby" he smiled, "What times your first class?"
"9:30" I glanced at the clock, "I gotta start walking soon"
"Okay. Have a good day. You get a break at noon right? I'll pick you up for lunch?"
"Sounds good Cal" I smiled, "I gotta go. I love you"
"I love you too. See you soon"

I walked into my first class- Money and Banking- and took a seat near the front. People may call be a teacher's pet for sitting there but I want a good job when I graduate so I'm here to learn and by sitting in the front, I'm paying attention and learning.
We didn't even do a syllabus, we just got right into it. I had my iPad out and was writing notes down on my Notability app.
My next class was Loans and I took a seat in the front there too. This class was important because I want to go into doing something with loans possibly so I paid extra attention.
As soon as that class ended, I started booking it back to my dorm where Calum was already waiting to take me to lunch. Before school closed down because of Covid, Calum and I would always have a lunch date at least once a week.
I unlocked my dorm and went into my room, finding Calum sitting on my bed with two carry out bowls of pasta,
"You went to our favorite place" I grinned, dropping my backpack,
"I did" he chuckled as I sat up on my bed with him, "They weren't doing dine in so I just went and picked it up"
"Thank you" I leaned over and pecked his lips,
"Of course" he nodded and handed me a fork and water bottle and we both dug in.
"Did your classes go okay this morning?" Calum asked, putting his finished bowl off to the side,
"Yeah. My banking class is going to be easy but my loan one is going to be more difficult" I shrugged,
"You have two more today, right? Then basketball?"
I nodded,
"Basketball I can't do anything though. The doctor hasn't cleared me"
I can't do anything crazy physical until I've been released by my doctor from the miscarriage. I went back a week ago and she told me no. I go again next week so we will see then,
"Did you have to tell your coach?"
"Yeah, but he wasn't too mad or anything. He told me to come back when I was ready. I just need to be cleared. I feel like I need to play ball soon"
"I think getting you back on the court is going to help you too. Get you back to feeling somewhat normal"
I nodded just as I finished up. I quickly checked the time and smiled,
"I've got an hour and a half before class, so cuddle?" I puppy-dog eyed it. Calum chuckled and went and threw our stuff away then came back and laid down with me, his arms wrapped around me tightly,
"I miss waking up next to you" Calum pressed his lips to my forehead,
"Miss you holding me all night" I hummed,
"You could just move in" Calum sang, making me sigh,
"Cal, not until-"
"I know baby. Not until you graduate or quit basketball"
I tilted my head back and pressed a kiss to his jaw,
"Just two years" I spoke,
"Just two years"

I walked into the locker room at basketball and was overwhelmed with everyone hugging me. I never told them what happened so someone else must have said,
"Thanks" I smiled and sat on my bench in front of my locker,
"Are you okay?"
I sighed as questions hit,
"I'm fine. Can we just not talk about it? I'm finally getting better and I just can't talk about it"
Everyone nodded and accepted that answer,
"Okay" Miya clapped her hands, "Let's hit the court"
I followed them all out and stood under the goal, catching balls as they shot and passing them back to the person who shot.
As they practiced, I had a ball and was just dribbling in place. I wasn't moving a ton so it was okay to do. I'm just not allowed to do all the running and physical stuff.

When practice ended, I grabbed everything and walked with Miya back to our dorm, with a quick stop at the dining hall for dinner.
I took a shower no sooner than we got back and climbed into bed. I tossed and turned for a while. It's hard to sleep when you've been used to someone's arms around you. I had Calum's shirt on thinking it'd help some but it didn't. So I grabbed his hoodie and cuddled it like it was a blanket. His scent on the fabric helped calm me down enough to keep my eyes closed but not enough for sleep.
Finally, I huffed and rolled over, grabbing my phone and FaceTiming Calum,
"Hey baby? Why are you calling so late? You okay?" Calum asked as soon as he answered, clearly in bed too,
"Can't sleep" I mumbled, "Can you sing to me? You know like you do when I'm with you"
He used to sing little tunes in my ear as we fell asleep. It usually put me right to sleep,
"Sure" he laughed and adjusted the way he was laying, "Close your eyes"
I hummed and did so as his soft soothing voice came through, lulling me into sleep.
