{ Adley }

Today was New Year's Eve and we were going to Ashton's tonight. It wasn't a party it was just the main group hanging out. But before we go over tonight, I have a baby doctor's appointment.

I walked out of the bedroom to find Calum so we could head out, but I stopped in the kitchen when my back started hurting. Lately, my back has been killing me. I'm twenty years old, pregnant, and having major back problems,

"Cal, I'm in the kitchen! You ready to go?" I called,

"Yeah!" he yelled back, "One second"

Soon he came in with his car keys. I got up and followed him out to the car, turning on my seat warmer in hopes it will help soothe my back,

"Is it still hurting badly?" Calum asked as he put his hand on my thigh, using his thumb to rub small circles,

"Yeah" I sighed, "My mom said she could be sitting on a nerve or something"

"Maybe we can talk to the doctor and see what you can do" Calum suggested. I nodded and took his hand in mine as we pulled into the doctor's office. Calum swiftly backed in with one hand then smirked,

"It amazes me you can do that so easily" I laughed,

"That's because I'm a good driver unlike someone else" he teased. I playfully rolled my eyes and hit his arm as he got out.

Calum walked around the hood of the car and opened my door for me, taking my hand again as I got out and we began to walk into the building.

I signed in then they took us back to a room. With all the Covid stuff, they take you to a room right away so you aren't in a waiting room with a bunch of people,

"The doctor will be with you in just a moment" the nurse nodded as she left Calum and me.

Calum sat in the chair and I sat on the bed, knowing that's where I'd have to be anyway,

"This is the first ultrasound since finding out we're having a girl" I grinned, even though you couldn't tell because of my mask,

"I know. I'm excited" Calum spoke. I could tell he was excited. He was bouncing his legs and he couldn't sit still.

Soon the door opened and Dr. Haynes walked in,

"How are we doing?" she spoke,

"Pretty good" I nodded,

"So, how do we feel knowing you're having a girl?"

"Ecstatic" Calum answered,

"Usually the dad's are upset about having girls" she commented,

"I was rooting for one" Calum shrugged and glanced at me.

Dr. Haynes got the ultrasound all set up and we watched the screen. Then we saw our little girl. Calum got up and stood next to me, holding my hand,

"What is she doing?" he asked as we noticed she had her hand by her face,

"She's sucking her thumb" Dr. Haynes laughed, "Which means, you're probably going to have a thumb sucker"

Calum kissed my head and I looked up at him,

"She looks very healthy. She's small but that is perfectly okay. Do we have any questions or concerns?" Dr. Haynes asked as she cleaned my stomach off and printed out our pictures,

"My back has been absolutely killing me. I can't even sleep. Is there anything I can do?" I asked,

"I'm sure it does. You're carrying more in your back. But, what you can do is see a chiropractor. It's safe and it will probably help" she nodded, "Any other questions?"

Calum and I shook our heads,

"Alright, then I'll see you in four weeks"

We pulled up to Ashton's and got out of the car. I tugged Calum's long sleeve shirt that I was wearing down. With the bump, it's not as long as it usually is, but it still works. None of my clothes really fit anymore. I finally had to go buy maternity leggings and pants.

Calum opened Ashton's front door and the two of us walked in. We were the last to get here,

"There you all are!" Ashton grinned and hugged us both,

"How's the little girl?" Sierra asked as she hugged me,

"Doing great" I smiled, "We got to see her today"

I went off and sat with the girls in the living room while Ashton and the guys headed downstairs. The girls and I talked about everything. It was nice to be able to actually sit down and talk to them without feeling out of place. When I first met them, they were definitely iffy on me, but I was glad to be getting along with all of them now.

{ Calum }

"So a girl dad" Luke patted my shoulder as he, Michael, Ashton, and I were all downstairs,

"Yeah" I grinned, "Don't get me wrong, I'm terrified, but I'm so fucking excited"

"You're going to be an amazing dad Cal" Michael smiled,

"I'm going to do my best" I sighed,

"I'm sure you all got a shit ton of stuff for Christmas" Ashton chuckled,

"Oh yeah" I laughed, "Our moms went crazy and got us a ton of stuff. It's currently sitting in the hallway because we don't have her room done and we didn't want to drag everything out when we go to paint, or well when I go to paint"

"If you need help, let us know" Luke spoke, making me nod,

"Thanks. I'll probably need it" I laughed.

We continued to talk for what felt like forever before we looked at the clock and saw it was almost midnight.

We headed back upstairs where the girls were. As we walked in, I walked towards Adley and sat next to her. She almost immediately laid her head on my shoulder,

"Tired?" I asked. She nodded,

"Can we leave after midnight?" she yawned. I nodded and kissed her head then we both stood as the countdown started,

"Five, four, three, two, one, HAPPY NEW YEAR" we all yelled then turned and kissed our significant others. But as I kissed Adley she gasped and looked at me with a big smile,

"What?" I furrowed my eyes and she grabbed my hand and set it on her stomach. That's when I felt all the kicking, making me grin and drop down and kiss her stomach,

"Happy new year to you to. Me and Mommy can't wait to meet you"
