"Why did we take her again?" Elastic asked, referring to Sophia.
"To get revenge," Spark reminded her.
"Yes, but how?"
"I'm trying to figure that out!" Spark slammed the table he was sitting at.
Sophia laughed at the overreaction, despite being tied up and locked in a cell in a very hot abandoned mine. "You guys are ridiculous."
"You won't be thinking that when we're through with you!"
"In case you have forgotten, you've already done the worst to me. Ripping me away from my son not once, but twice, and now his father! Physical torture has nothing on that."
"Shut her up!"
A bar of metal wrapped around Sophia's head, and she let out a muffled, yet monotone, "Ow."
"Thank you, Metal," Spark sighed.
"It was my pleasure, she's really annoying," Metal Dragon responded.
"I wish we had grabbed her son as well," Whisper whined. "I would love to get some revenge on him."
"Aw, baby is upset that he got knocked out by a powerless brat?" CopyCat teased.
"I will end you."
"You know, it was part of the plan to get him. But you guys screwed that up!"
"It's not our fault he has his old man's powers!" Elastic defended.
"Get rid of the shadows! Seriously, how hard is it to light up a room!"
"Harder than you think! There was furniture everywhere in the room!"
Sophia rolled her eyes at the bickering. It was a miracle they were able to work together to kidnap her.
"If you had gone for the kid first, when he was powerless, then maybe you would have stood a chance! Or maybe we wouldn't have needed hostages in the first place because we could have killed all of them right then and there!"
"We already have the hostage, so what's the plan, boss?!" Metal Dragon yelled.
"I'm thinking! It's harder to come up with a plan than you think!"
"Great, not even a day together and we're already falling apart," Elastic thought out loud.
"It doesn't matter. Just spread out, we don't want any heroes crawling around. Whisper, go to surveillance. I'll call you all back when I have a plan."
Grumbling, the other four all left the room. Spark sighed, and risked a glance at Sophia. The woman just raised her eyebrow at him with an unimpressed look.
"Oh shut up, you try leading these idiots," he growled.
Once again, Sophia rolled her eyes.

"Okay, this is crazy, right?" Janus asked. "We just got in trouble for sneaking into Shadow's cell last night, why are we sneaking off tonight?"
"Because our parents are coming to pick us up tomorrow," Remus reminded him. "And Roman and I refuse to let you guys do this alone. We don't want to miss the fun."
"Yeah, fun," Logan said begrudgingly. "I need better friends."
"Oh you don't really feel that way," Patton said. "Besides, who else will fly the helicopter?"
"Why me, though?"
"It's the curse of being the smartest," Virgil said, raising his hand and the shadows around him. With one cut, the gate to the airport opened.
"Since when can shadows cut metal?" Roman asked.
"Since I could control them. Now come on, we don't have a lot of time."
Janus kept them hidden as they ran towards the helicopters. He tossed Logan the key he had swiped earlier as they all climbed in.
"Buckle up!" Patton told everyone, climbing in next to Logan.
"Okay, let's see what I learned since I skimmed the basics of how to fly a helicopter," Logan said doubtfully. "My mom is going to kill me."
"Well, I'm going to make sure my mom doesn't get killed," Virgil retorted as he buckled up.
"Everyone ready?" Logan looked back to see everyone nod. "Okay, hold on tight then."
He turned the helicopter on and started flipping switches and pressing buttons. The doors locked and in no time Logan was able to get the helicopter off of the ground.
"Let's get moving before we're caught," Janus helpfully suggested.
"I'm on it," Logan said, and he steered the helicopter away from the airport.
"Do you have the location in the GPS?" Virgil asked.
"I got it," Patton said. "We're heading the right way."
Virgil nodded and sat back with a sigh. He started the chew on his thumb when he felt Roman take his other hand.
"Hey, it'll be okay," Roman told him. "We got this."
"Yeah, yeah, okay. It's five of them, and six of us. Unless you include all of CopyCat's clones. Or whatever tech Whisper has all around. And I'm sure there's plenty of metal for Metal Dragon- god why are you guys coming?!"
"Like we're going to let you have all of the fun!" Remus argued.
"You're going to be more likely to win this fight if you have us as back up," Janus pointed out.
"We're not going to leave your side, Virgil," Logan added.
"Okay, okay, enough of the sappy stuff!" Virgil said. "You're going to rot my teeth."
Roman gave him a smile, "Just don't worry about us. We can handle whatever is thrown at us."
Virgil returned the smile. "Okay, I trust you guys. Thank you."
