Several weeks have passed since that Friday and the twins had been finding themselves settling down at the school. They've been finding their way around without using the map most of the time, they've made friends in all of their classes, they've even gone to the beach a few times.
They've already become good friends with the other four, finding a place in their group. Even Virgil seems to tolerate them more, though he and Roman keep finding themselves competing against one another. Whether it was them racing in P.E. or getting the most answers correct in algebra, they were always finding something to compete against each other.
Remus, of course, even started teasing Roman about it. Calling Virgil his rival in a suggestive tone when the two were alone. Roman always found something to throw at his brother's head when he did this. Though he will not deny he does enjoy Virgil's company, as a friend though.
Still, he wasn't blind to the looks that several students have given Virgil, most of the time they looked scared like Virgil was going to snap at them, but some kids glared at him. Roman tried not to think about it too much.
He didn't care why people didn't seem to like Virgil, Patton and Logan trusted him so that was enough for Roman. Sure the dude was a creepy cookie, but he wouldn't harm anyone, right?
The twins were at the mall again, they're given 200 power points at the end of every week so they had enough to buy some items. They've finally been able to figure their way out, though at the moment they were both just in Barnes and Nobles.
"Roman, guess what I found in the history section," Remus squealed, bouncing on his feet.
Roman sighed, "Let me guess, some kind of book about the history of torture?"
"No, I already have plenty of those. This one is about the ugly parts of the medieval times! So I guess it does include torture."
"Every part about the medieval times is ugly."
"Exactly!"
"Just for once pick out a book that isn't disgusting."
"I've read several fantasy books! Sorry if Harry Potter doesn't do it for me, though the giant squid was cool, and one of the characters shared my name! But he was kinda boring, unlike his boyfriend."
"Did Rowling already try to add that they were romantically involved at one point? I can't remember, she changes so many aspects of the story every time she opens her mouth."
"I don't know, I mostly just block her out. She's a transphobic asshole so I don't care what she says. Ooh, this book has illustrations!"
Roman looked away as Remus turned the book around to show him. "I think I'm good."
"Your loss," Remus shrugged. "Did you find anything?"
"Yeah I found this book that looks kinda gay, They Both Die at the End. I might end up not reading the ending just cause I don't think I'll want them to die, but it looks pretty good."
"You sir are gay as hell."
"It's a gift." Roman smiled.
"Whatever, let's go pay for these before we end up getting caught by any other interesting books."
"Hey wait, you two are new here, right?" a boy asked, walking towards them with a friend.
"What's it to ya?" Remus asked, eyeing them.
"We've just noticed that you hang out with that kid, Virgil, a lot. You should be careful around him."
The kid's friend nodded and added, "He sent some kids to the hospital on the island last year."
