"That was so boring!" Remus complained as they walked back to the dorms. "I don't want to do mission control! I'm not an office guy! Please tell me playing hero was more fun than what I did."
"Yeah, it-it was something," Roman said. His mind was still reeling over the fact that Virgil has a prosthetic leg.
He didn't get a chance to talk to Virgil after since he was called back while Virgil had to stay behind to get stitches on his shoulder. He couldn't find him later either, so he guessed he went to get his prosthetic fixed.
"What was something? That sounds mighty suspicious," Remus stated. "What happened?"
"Nothing!" Roman insisted, he didn't know if Virgil would be okay with Remus knowing.
"Oh? Now I know something happened. You like him, don't you?"
Roman didn't know whether to sigh in relief or slap his brother. "Of course I do, he's a good friend and I care about him."
"No no no, you can't do that. You like like him."
"What are you, in elementary school? What about you and Janus?"
"Don't change the subject, what happened?"
"He got hurt and I was worried, that's all, but it's a small injury so he should be fine."
"What, did you kiss?" Remus leaned towards him.
Roman pushed Remus's face away. "We did not, get away you freak!"
Remus laughed, "I'm just teasing. There's no way you could have been able to get a kiss from him."
"You're a jerk."
"Roman, Remus!" a voice called behind them.
They turned around and they saw Virgil running towards them, he was wearing sweatpants now. Roman smiled when he saw him, it meant he was okay.
"Virgil, how's your shoulder?" Roman asked.
"It's okay, it wasn't deep," Virgil told him. "Can I talk to you guys? Um, somewhere private?"
"Of course, we were heading to our dorm room if you want to come."
"Thanks, I just felt like I should tell you guys something important."
"Hey, how was it like out on the field?" Remus asked.
"Well, it was a bit boring at times but mostly it was intense. I'll admit, your brother was pretty good at fighting for a new kid."
"We make a pretty good team," Roman admitted. "Though, I should learn how to control my powers to help in fights without maiming and killing."
"Yeah, that-that was shocking when you melted that robot's head."
"You were able to melt a robot's head!" Remus asked, hurt Roman didn't tell him.
"I wasn't supposed to, I got points knocked off," Roman argued.
"You never tell me anything anymore, you wound me brother!"
"Enough with the dramatics you big baby." Roman pulled out their dorm key as they turned to the hallway.
"He's so mean to me, Virgil," Remus pouted.
"Well you're friends with Janus, you should be used to it," Virgil pointed out.
"Yeah but we're mostly mean to other people."
"Well, welcome to our dorm, Virgil," Roman said, opening the door and letting them walk in.
