TW: PTSD nightmare, ghost pains, burns, just a whole lotta angsty stuff at the end

"What do you think of the twins?" Logan asked Virgil as they walked to the library.

"They're okay I guess," Virgil answered with a shrug. "Very loud though, but they both have their own charms. Besides, you guys seem to like them so it's not like I'm going to ever escape them."

"I suppose that's true, at the very least Patton and Janus like them. Well, Janus likes Remus more than Roman."

"Run run run!" Janus yelled as he and a giggling Remus ran right past them followed by a group of angry kids covered in pink paint and frost.

"What the...?" Virgil asked, watching them turn the corner leaving pink footsteps behind them.

Logan sighed painfully, "I might kill them."

"Oh yeah, Remus has ice powers doesn't he? That explains the frost on those kids."

"Indeed. Well, those two got themselves into that mess, they can get themselves out."

"I'm definitely not helping them. It's their fault if they get caught."

"I'm sure we just watched an illusion go by, not the real Remus and Janus. Those two are probably long gone by now."

Virgil snorted. "They're going to get in so much trouble if those kids tell a teacher."

"Janus will find a way out of it. They're probably already creating alibis right now."

"God, why am I friends with him?"

"Because he's my roommate."

"You don't always have to befriend roommates."

"You and Patton have always been roommates," Logan reminded him.

"And yet you're the one that fell in love with him."

Logan's face went beat red. "I am not in love with him, that is ridiculous! I enjoy his company and friendship and nothing more."

"Okay, sure. I almost believed that." Virgil patted Logan's shoulder as they walked into the library.

Logan spotted Patton checking out some books. "Well, believe what you want because I'm leaving you for him. You just lost your study buddy for today."

"I'll get you tomorrow, you might love Patton but you can't resist me."

Logan rolled his eyes with a small smile before walking off to Patton. Virgil smirked at them before finding a spot at the tables to sit at, pulling out his school work.

He looked over his algebra equations before turning to his work. He barely started on his first question before Roman came into the library.

"Hey, do you know why there's pink paint everywhere?" he asked, sitting across from Virgil.

"Your brother and Janus pranked some poor kids."

"Ah, that explains it." Roman noticed Virgil working on the algebra homework. "You didn't do your homework either?"

"Yeah, I got distracted."

Roman pulled out his homework and a pencil. "Bet I can finish it before you."

"I already got a head start," Virgil reminded him, but he had a smile on his face since he knew Roman wouldn't back down.

"You're going to need that head start if you want to have a chance to beat me."

"Oh you're on. Loser buys the winner something from the food court."

"Deal!"

They both smiled at the challenge and quickly went to work, answering their questions as fast as they could.
