It was a regular morning. I was reading a bunch of grimoires and was listening to classical music when the doorbell rang.
It was the deliveryman and he had a package for me from Simon. Simon was an artifact geek who loved researching those ancient items. He would often send me some things that no longer interested him.
I opened the box and saw a black crystal inside it.
Hey Felix! This crystal can summon a legendary creature from another world. It's just a one-time use though and it seems to be compatible with certain mana. It didn't work when I tried it so can you use your mana to power it up?
The note inside it said. A legendary creature?? Was it a phoenix or a deity? Simon wouldn't send duds to me so I guess it was safe to try it out.
I headed to my father's research room and placed the crystal on the floor. All I needed was to pour mana in it, right?
Gathering my mana, I touched the crystal and it began glowing. I sensed a powerful presence entering the room as light covered everything.
When it died down, there was a black-haired boy standing.
He was wearing a white uniform and his eyes looked mean. The boy looked to be around my age and he was as tall as me.
"What the-"I couldn't hide my surprise when I saw him.
He looked at me and his face was filled with confusion. Ah! Where were my manners? I stood straight.
"What are you?" I asked.
Wait... Could he understand Japanese? Simon said the crystal would summon something from another world. Japanese probably don't exist there. As I wondered how I would communicate with him, he smiled.
"I'm Kamishiro Mikage, an administrative officer of the 13th unit of the Westa Knight Order", he answered.
Ah. He knew Japanese... That's good. Did the summoning grant him the ability to speak Japanese? I've heard that some summoned creatures get their knowledge from their summoners. But....
"An administrative officer?? I never thought there was a magic that could summon an office worker", I muttered.
Was Simon wrong? It was supposed to summon a legendary creature but why was a boy summoned instead? I looked at him and he didn't seem to be that good. He had an average mana and his build wasn't that impressive.
But I remembered the powerful presence that appeared in the room when I attempted to summon him. He was definitely a special one... I think.
"Where am I?" he asked.
"Ah. You're in a world called Earth. To be more specific, you are in a country called Japan."
His eyes widened and he ran to the window. When he opened it, he poked out his head and looked at the scenery.
"That was strange. They said it would summon a legendary creature... Unless being an "administrative officer" is legendary, then you are no ordinary human", I said.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"Sorry. I got too caught up. My name is Takeda Felix, a magician from the Millennium Nights Association", I introduced myself.
His brows furrowed as if he was deep in thought.
"You seem to be able to speak Japanese... Does this language exist in your world as well?" I asked.
"The truth is..."
Kamishiro-san then told me his story. He was a regular video game nerd who got involved in an accident and died. When he woke up, he realized that he was sent to another world. Later, he found out that he was summoned as a vessel for the Primordial Dark.
