More mysteries to deal with

I looked at the morning news as I drank my coffee. A bunch of reporters were talking about how a warehouse exploded yesterday. They had many theories like a gas leak or that the owner had illegal weapons but none of them were quite right.

The truth was that a homunculus exploded. He had a magic inside him that if someone would invade his mind and he was forced to reveal the secrets, his Arcanum would gather all of his mana and explode.

If I wasn't careful, Tokoyami-san and I would be dead already. Whoever was E-002's creator, he was a bastard. He had no problems with sacrificing his homunculus. Even if they were artificial, they had lives as well. Some magicians might argue that homunculi had no human rights and were like living dolls but those were the kinds of magicians who the Millennium Nights Association didn't like.

After eating my breakfast, I went on my way to school. I tried to enhance my senses to see if someone was following me. It couldn't be helped if someone was going to go after me because I just picked a fight with a strong magician. Judging from how he had an inexperienced magician as a subordinate and how he created a homunculus with an Arcanum, he was probably part of an organization.

However, my worries were pointless since no one was following me. I wonder... What E-002 said was making me uneasy.

No... It's not for a ritual. We are the same as you, False Truth. We are trying to find the truths of the world like any other magician, the silver-haired homunculus' words echoed in my mind.

If it wasn't for a ritual, then why did they need the homeless people? What could they be doing that required their victims to change their astral bodies?

And it was pretty abnormal that the Enforcer's didn't notice anything weird was going on. Was the man behind everything that good? Or was there something going on in the Enforcers? It would be alarming if they were willingly letting them get away with it.

I arrived at my school and went to the classroom. Tokoyami-san was talking to her friends, Shinzou-kun was drawing on his book, and other people were doing their stuff.

Speaking of Shinzou-kun, should I talk to him? Then again, I had no idea how to talk to him, especially how he was a special existence. If I tried to look at him carefully, I could feel the energy of the Phoenix Feather radiating inside. However, I couldn't tell if he was a real person or a homunculus without a thorough investigation.

I sat on my chair and tried to wonder about my next moves. Maybe I should go to Germany and consult the Grandmaster. My father said that he wanted to talk with me so it was actually good timing. I could ask him about the Enforcers as well and possibly get guidance on my original magic.

That could work. I took out my smartphone and booked a flight to Germany. My passport should still be valid and I could just cloud my teachers' minds to give me an excused absence. Besides, no one would miss me in this class if I was gone for a few days.

"Takeda-kun..." Tokoyami-san approached me.

"Hey, Tokoyami-san", I greeted her.

"How should we deal with our problem?"

I knew what she was talking about. If my theory was correct, E-002 lured us away from the commercial district just so his master and his organization could relocate. The reason we fought was because he wanted to buy time for them to escape without any traces.

"Don't worry. I'll get to the bottom of this. That's why I'll be leaving for the weekend and staying in Germany", I told her.

"You're going to Germany?"

"That's right. I already booked a flight. I need to talk to the Grandmaster and possibly learn the Enforcer's stand on this problem."

"You talk like going to Germany is a usual thing. Are you a rich kid?"
