"Shinzo-senpai... Is something wrong?" a classmate of ours asked.

"Well... Ummmm..." he tried to find the right words.

I absolutely had no context on what was happening but Shinzo-senpai looked visibly uncomfortable. No... It was more appropriate to say that he was worried about something and from how he came here at the same time my alarms went off, it was no coincidence.

"The teachers have a surprise event at the gym. Shinzo-senpai is trying to gather us there", I lied.

"Oh? An event? That sounds fun!" a classmate said.

"Let's all go there!" another added.

The class murmured in agreement and one by one they went out of the classroom. As for why they just willingly believed that lie, I had to use magic.

It was a subtle hypnosis magic that was mixed in with my words. Anyone without magical barriers protecting their subconscious would be affected by it and would willingly believe all of my words. While it was distasteful to use magic that could affect their freewill, I had no other choice.

"Shinzo-senpai. Let's go to the next class and inform them", I said.

"Yes.. Yes we should", he nodded.

Shinzo-senpai led the way and Tokoyami-san walked behind me. She tugged on my clothes and leaned in close.

"Did you just use magic for mind control?" she whispered.

"Of course not. It's just a strong hypnosis magic. I respect a person's right to their own freewill and thus, Mind Control Magic and all other similar magic are something I don't use regularly."

"Wait... Does that mean you know a few?"

"Total domination over someone's mind might be difficult but it's not impossible. It's merely up to whose will is stronger and as a magician, the will of the common man is nothing."

We entered one classroom after another and I used magic to make everyone go to the gym without any questions. Not only that, we went to the faculty room and all other areas and brought everyone and not leaving anyone behind.

After all, it was getting dangerous. I could feel the necromancer from before in this school and an entity similar to a phoenix fighting. It was great that we were doing well with the evacuation and no one was the wiser.

I was actually worried that a bounty hunter was coming straight at me even in school but from how no one attacked me, it was probably a different case. There was no time to ask questions so I had to focus on evacuating everyone. I could interrogate the intruders as soon as everyone was safe.

"Are you okay, Takeda-kun?" Tokoyami-san asked.

"Why wouldn't I?" I asked back.

"You've been using that hypnosis magic for a while already. Are you going to be fine?"

"Don't worry. This doesn't even make me break a sweat. I don't need absolute dominion against them so I won't be using a significant amount of mana. Besides, they are just common people. Their wills are nothing compared to a magician like me."

After all, the very foundation of magic was "desire." Chants are merely words arranged in a certain sequence. Mana manipulation might be difficult and with it alone, a magician could just produce vibrations.

To be able to twist the strict laws of Reality, a magician must have the "desire" to do it. Their desire must be stronger than the forces that kept Reality intact. Once they accomplish that, they could manipulate their mana while chanting in order to create a miracle.
