"Are you sure we are at the right place?" Tokoyami-san asked.
"Pretty sure", I answered.
She was actually not wrong for wondering. After all, we were in our city's commercial district. Since school was over, there were many students walking around.
"This is totally weird! Why would our enemy hide here? Aren't hideouts supposed to be in the middle of the forest, at the edge of a cliff, or even an abandoned warehouse?" she asked.
"It's actually better to hide in plain sight. You would find a guy to be suspicious if he enters the forest every now and then, right? If his hideout is in a crowded place like this commercial district, no one would question why he would go to this place". I answered.
"Are you sure about this place?"
"More than sure. I know this is the place."
"What kind of magic did you use?"
"It's an S-ranked magic known as "Fate's Sight." Unlike World's Watch which only tracks the astral bodies in the Astral Plane. Fate's Sight also uses Temporal Magic. Since the astral bodies were changed beyond recognition, I had to find the specific point in space-time where their astral bodies were last seen."
"And what did you get?"
"Their astral bodies were last seen here around 39 hours ago. As for the specific area, I don't know."
"That's pretty helpful for an S-ranked magic."
"Yeah. We can thank our enemy for that. I think he knows that we are here."
"Wait. What do you mean by that?"
I looked around trying to find anything that was odd.
"He had magic that was powerful enough to block Fate's Sight. The only reason why I can only pinpoint this area and not the exact location was because of that magic. Whatever he was planning, he doesn't want anyone to find out", I said.
"So that means he already knows that we're here?"
I grabbed Tokoyami-san's hand and immediately went inside a cafe.
"W-What are you doing?" she asked.
"What are you saying? Aren't we here on a date?" I asked back.
Play along. You don't want to alert them, I passed that message to her mind using magic. They shouldn't be able to detect that I used magic to pass her a message.
"O-Of course. I'm just surprised that you could be so bold, Felix", she said.
A waiter went to our table and took our orders. I just took black coffee while Tokoyami-san asked for chocolate milk.
I think they are eavesdropping on us right now. Talk like a regular girl on a date, I told her using magic.
"How do girls act on dates?" she asked.
"I don't know. I've never been in one."
I closed my eyes and tried to check if someone was eavesdropping on us. Whoever was spying on us, he was a total amateur. I could feel his magic even if I didn't amplify my senses.
"Hey... Do you mind if I take a photo of you?" I asked.
"E-Eh?"
"The scenery of the cafe looks good. I want to take a picture of you along with this amazing background."
I'm not being creepy. I need to take a picture of the outside, I told her.
"O-Okay then", she struck a pose near the window.
