"That's my title in the magician's world", I replied.

"Yes. The youngest A-ranked magician who ever existed and also one of the 13 S-ranked Enforcers, Takeda Felix the False Truth", the silver-haired man said.

"It's kind of unfair to have you the only one who knows things. Tell me your name, homunculus", I looked at him.

"I am E-002, a mere homunculus."

I looked around and I couldn't sense anyone else in the warehouse. From what I could see, he didn't have any communication devices so he couldn't call for backup. What was his goal? Why did he lure us in this place?

"What did you do to my friends?!" Tokoyami-san asked.

"Those homeless people? We just gave their useless lives a purpose. They should feel honored that their lives were used for the sake of magical advancements."

"Magical advancements? I see... So they became sacrifices for a ritual. You must be really good to hide from the Enforcers", I said.

"No... It's not for a ritual. We are the same as you, False Truth. We are trying to find the truths of the world like any other magician."

"And you're sacrificing the lives of innocent people for that? If you found the truth by traveling a bloody path, then you are not fit to be called a magician."

"Tokoyami-san... Stand back. This will be a tough fight", I said as I stepped forward.

"To be able to fight against the False Truth... What an honor", E-002 said.

We looked into each other's eyes. His eerie gold eyes looked like they were looking straight at my soul.

Come forth, Rapid Bombardment!" I chanted and several magic circles appeared above me.

"Protect!

My Fortress!" E-002 chanted and a barrier appeared in front of him.

The magic circles above me shot bolts of compressed mana but the barrier blocked them. However, the barrier collapsed after the barrage of compressed mana was finally done.

Tch... He was able to protect himself from Rapid Bombardment. My Fortress was a simple D-rank barrier magic but he was able to use it against my C-rank Rapid Bombardment. His mana control must be exceptional... As expected of a homunculus.
