Chapter 30

Alistair

"Ace, si Raelle?" I asked my buddy.

"Secretary mo sakin mo hinahanap?" Walang-pakialam na sagot niya.

"Wag mo sakin hahanapin 'yung stocks and bonds mo ha."

"Sabi ko nga hahanapin ko na si Raelle. Eto na nga oh, palabas na." He said before closing the door, making sure that he'll make a loud noise.

"Good." I laughed.

Paglabas ni Ace, tsaka ko lang na-realize kung bakit ko pinatawag si Raelle. I don't need to do anything, I actually just want her to rest. She's been working here for years now and she already know how my day goes.

"Sir?" She called for me in her usual tone; sweet. It sounds like music in my ears.

"I- uh- I - have you eaten lunch yet?" I stuttered. Hindi ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko sa kanya.

"Hindi pa po."

"Drop the po, for pete's sake. Let's eat outside."

"I've got papers to finish."

"Oh." I uttered.

"Just tell me where you want to eat, I'll call them."

"Nope, I'm good."

"Alright." She said and walked out.

"Wait!" I stopped her.

"Yes?"

"You're- hindi ka na magre-resign di'ba?"

"Hindi ngayon, sir."

"Then I'll come to the event tomorrow."

"Sir?"

"No buts."

Matagal ko na siyang pinipilit na sumama ako sa team building, ayaw niya lang. She's always thinking of the other employees na kesyo natatakot saakin. They are supposed to be scared of me.

"Alistair, fire those people." Dad convinced me. Sumasakit ang ulo ko doon sa mga babaeng pinagu-usapan si Raelle sa CR kanina.

"I want to. But Raelle practically begged people who saw them not to tell me. She knows what I'll do."

"Let's just tell her we fired them." Mom suggested. "Raelle is just too nice."

"I'll come to the team building tomorrow. I need to make sure she's okay."

"Make sure she's okay or spend time with her?"

"Both?"

"What are your plans, Alistair?" Mom asked me.

"Wala. I love her but I couldn't loosen up, knowing the people in this company. Lalo na't may lumalapit na sa kanya na Aelous from my manager's office."

"Fire that Aelous too?" Dad asked.

"Can't. He's good with his work."

"Then step up. Tell Raelle you love her." Dad patted my shoulder.

"As if it's as easy as shouting to Cloe?"

"Hey, your sister loves her ate Raelle so much. You might want to act sweeter to her unless she'll definitely tell Raelle to ditch you."

Kinabukasan, everything happened so fast. She knew about my feelings and I knew about hers. It's just that she's very hesitant. She really is not an impulsive person.

"I didn't know you're afraid of rain."

"It's not the rain I'm afraid of. I'm afraid of lightning and thunder. Masyado kasing malakas. But it's okay, it's not like I can't cover my ears."
