Max's P.O.V~
We enter the old house and Carl and his dad get into another fight.
I decide to walk straight past then as they bicker so I can search the lower levels of the house.
Thank god the stroller is relatively light because other wise it would be a bitch to manoeuvre.
Daisy has been asleep mist of the way here, occasionally I hear a little snore and I remind myself that i'm now responsible for Daisy as Ruby was responsible for me.
I just hope I can do a good a job as she did.
As I wander through the house I realise that the people here evacuated quickly.
There's not been much scavenging, still food and knives in the kitchen.
Useful.
I prop Daisy's pram in the closest corner and grab her formula out the bottom of the pram.
She's still zipped up and sleeping but I know she'll be hungry soon.
Even though I kept the spare formula in the pram I didn't keep a spare bottle for her to use.
An this isn't a baby house.
I look around and find a funnel, some duct tape and a bottle of water from my stash.
I chuck some formula in the bottle and mix it up, the I throw the funnel over the top and duct tape it on.
Finally I baby-proof it with a duct tape nozzle.
"What's that?" Carl asks as he walks in.
"A bottle, for Daisy." I tell Carl as he looks at it.
"That's pretty good for now buddy, we'll find her a proper one though." He responds.
"Oh and by the way my Dad is in the bathroom and I'm going to crash in the boy's bedroom, you go to the parents bed and sleep there." He says before walking off.
"Well I guess we have to leave your pram downstairs..." I whisper to Daisy as I unroll the cover and pick her up.
She wakes quickly and quietly, looking up at me with giant brown eyes.
"We get a big bed tonight, we can sleep like real people used to...." I say as I walk her through the lounge and up the stairs.
I hear Carl and Rick start to argue again downstairs as I reach the door of our bedroom.
I open it and the bed looks like heaven.
Its still made up and there's soft pillows and a duvet.
This is heaven.
I lay Daisy down on the bed and pull the makeshift bottle out of my pocket.
I hold it over her and she kicks her little legs and arms out excitedly, making little giggly noises in happiness.
I pick her back up and start feeding her and she takes the bottle excitedly.
I don't think she can taste much, because the duct tape is probably really gross tasting.
I have to get her a real bottle.
Her eyes are already starting to droop back to sleep, she is probably exhausted from lack of energy.
She shakes herself a little to keep awake but soon snuggles down into my arms and falls asleep.
I put the bottle down next to me and lay her adjacent to a pillow to stop her from rolling off the bed.
I put another pillow between me an her so we can't roll into each other and I get back up off the bed to look for some clothes.
Carl's bed is just down the hall so I knock on the door.
"What?" He yells grumpily.
"Is there any clothes I can grab?" I ask him before opening the door.
"Ugh yeah, sorry, sure." He says walking over to the drawers.
He rifles through them before pulling out a greyish-blue shirt and some small jeans.
"Lucky he has clothes to fit you." Carl says handing them to me.
"You okay?" I ask quietly.
"Yeah, i'm fine." He replies before sulking off to the bed.
I turn and leave, closing the door behind me.
I make a quick stop at the bathroom to get changed and I walk back down to Daisy.
She's still peacefully asleep and I lay down beside her quietly.
