A/N ~ I'm sorry i haven't been updating regularly lately but I just went on school camp!
"Ruby. Ruby!" i hear someone call as my eyes flicker open.
"Oh thank god you're alright!" Glenn says looking over me.
"Are they gone?!" I yell, remembering what I last saw.
"I got rid of them half an hour ago." He replies whilst stroking my forehead softly.
"I couldn't deal Glenn. I don't want that happening to our baby."
"It won't, trust me." Glenn coos.
"How long have I been out?"
"About two hours, i guess you were tired."
"Oh geez I'm such an idiot!"
"Neither Daryl or Michonne could handle it wither so feel fine, you are about to become a mother, you're allowed to feel this way."
"Thanks."
"Don't mention it." Glenn says.
"Was there anything else in there?" I ask Glenn, pointing to the blood splashed on his chest and neck.
"Yeah, two adults. Probably ran the centre." He replies.
"How did Lori deal... i mean, i didn't know her. But she must have kept it together pretty well."
"She had Rick and the group to rely on. She didn't have a particularly great inner strength... but she had support."
"I don't know if I do..."
"Ruby, I would die for you. And that's without the baby. Now the two things that I love most are you and within you so I would give everything in me to protect you. And Daryl and Michonne and Carol and Rick, they all adore you. If you have that support it's all you need." Glenn says firmly and calmly as he cups my face in his hands and looks me in the eyes.
I break the small gap separating us to quickly kiss him and then I stand up.
"Thanks."
"Don't mention it."
Suddenly the car pulls up beside us.
"You two we loaded all the crap in the back so climb in." Daryl grunts.
Glenn pulls my arm towards the car and we get in.
"Here you can rest if you want." I say, easing Glenn's head onto my shoulder.
"You sure?"
"Yes." I whisper as he falls asleep gently.
As Michonne and Daryl quietly chatter in the front I fall asleep as well.
We get back to the prison in the late afternoon.
"How was it?" Rick asks me as I jump out the car.
"It was good." I lie.
"Do you wanna go tomorrow as well?'
"Of course I do, how's Max, have you seen him."
"Yeah, he says he feels sick so I sent him to bed. A couple of kids don't feel real well at the moment."
"Must be the flu, i'll go check on him." I say giving Rick a hug and walking past him.
I walk to the back of the car and grab the crib filled with stuff.
"Here i'll grab that." I hear a familiar voice say.
I turn and see Maggie holding her arms out to grab the stuff.
"No it's fine, I've got it."
"I insist." she says as she gently coerces the crib from my arms.
"Thanks." I tell her as she shifts it to carry it comfortably.
"It's no trouble. I'm sorry for blaming you in me and Glenn's breakup."
"I could have tried to turn him away more Maggie, it takes two to tango."
"Three in this case." she says as she walks into the eatery.
"What?" I ask.
"I drove him out as much as you pulled him in."
"What?"
"I was nasty to him, and you make him happy." She admits sadly.
We begin ascending the stairs she turns to me slowly and smiles.
"I have no bad feelings towards you Ruby, but you should probably hate me." she says as she sets the crib down at the top of the stairs.
"Why should I hate you?"
Maggie looks at me and chuckles softly.
"Oh Ruby... you don't get it."
"Get what?!"
"Glenn's mine, he'll always be mine and right now my only objective is getting him back." Her smile turns into a cruel grimace as she turns on her heel and barges my shoulder on her way past me.
I drag the crib into my cell and find Max asleep on the bottom bunk.
I stroke his forehead softly and his eyes flicker open.
"Ruby?"
"Yeah mate."
"The feeling... it's coming back. I have the feeling..."
"What feeling?"
"We're all in danger."
