Chapter 29

Glenn's P.O.V

"Hey." Maggie calls to me as I walk through the door to the prison.

"Uh... hey Maggie." I say cautiously, wondering why she is talking to me.

"Is there any more stuff to get, Ruby just gave me the crib to take up to your room, I don't think she's feeling too good." She says happily.

I rush past her and head up the stairs to check on Ruby.

"Are you okay!" I pant as I swing into the cell.

Ruby is kneeling in front of the bed talking to a frail looking Max.

"Yeah, Max isn't feeling too well." Ruby replies before sharing a look with Max.

"What was that?" I ask in referral to the look they shared.

"Nothing." Ruby answers quickly and bluntly.

"Okay then. Can I talk to you for a second Ruby?"

"Yeah sure go ahead." she replies stroking Max's forehead.

"Well Maggie told me you weren't feeling too good."

"That bitch."

"Why is she a bitch? Didn't she just carry the crib upstairs for you?"

"She took it from my hands and walked it to the top of the stairs and then she told me she was going to, and I quote, get you back."

Oh fuck

"Um... can we not talk in front of Max for like two seconds?" Ruby asks me getting up off the bed.

"Sure."

We walk to the end of the cell
Blocks and walk into the spare end cell.

Ruby sits down on the desk and I perch on the edge of the bunk with my hands clutched over my knees.

Her legs are crossed and elbows are on her knees, her hands support either side of her neck finger interlocking at the back. Her green coat drapes on the desk and her ponytail falls gently to one side. She looks so beautiful right now.

"Glenn, I can't compete with her."

"What?" I ask loudly.

"Maggie is thin and gorgeous and how I managed to get you the first time around was because Maggie wasn't treating you well. But what happens when she starts being perfectly behaved?" A silent tear rolls down her cheek.

"I won't give a shit. You're mine Ruby, and you sure as hell are prettier than Maggie." I say walking towards her and cupping her face in my hands.

Her eyes dart to mine but then turn away.

She pulls her hands away from me and climbs off the desk.

"I need to think for a while Glenn." she whispers staring awkwardly at the ground.

"Take as long as you want, I'll take care of Max." I reply.

She turns around and takes off at a jogging pace.

A/N~ Hey guys! I'm really sorry that the updates are going to be slow for two weeks! I am also running another fanfic on my account about Carl Grimes! I'm so happy so many of you read safe! Oh and by the way the next chapter will come out monday the fifteenth and there is going to be a HUGE PROBLEM WITH RUBY!!!

Oh and also I am absolutely devastated that Beth died because she was a beautiful character!
