"Can you go back? I kind of wanted to have a peaceful walk. By myself." I tell him, rather obnoxiously.

"Look, Ruby."

"No Glenn, I need some time alone."

"You're always alone, you've been avoiding me for weeks."

"For good reason."

"What good reason? You're just confused. You know you love me. You're just scared."

"If I recall correctly, it was you who was scared. All I wanted to do was go hunt and protect like everyone else."

"Ruby you have two kids..."

"You also have two kids. Why can't you look after them?"

"I can! I will! I just don't want you getting hurt!"

"I want to be able to leave, and you're way more clumsy than me! Even when I make big mistakes I make it out alive!"

"Fuck Ruby I'm sorry I care so much! I'm sorry I try to protect you! I'm sorry I try to make sure both of us are here for our children! I wont fucking bother if you don't want me too!"

I speed up and try to get away from him, but he walks in front of me and corners me against a tree trunk, putting his arm above my head and leaning in right close to my face.

"Ruby, talk to me. Tell me to leave you alone. Tell me you won't marry me. Tell me I don't make you happy." He whispers into my ear.

Shivers run up and down my spine from his breath, hot on my neck.

I lean out and look him in the eye, but he moves around me and starts back to camp.

I turn and try to follow him, but he walks too determinedly and I have to jog to keep up.

"Glenn... Glenn..." I try to get his attention.

Fuck it.

I run slightly ahead of him and turn quickly on a jump, forcing him to catch me as I wrap my legs around him.

I look down at him from my elevated position.

"Fuck you." I whisper before leaning down and kissing him.

"I love you." He breathes as I break the kiss.
