Chris POV
"I didn't know you were the old school type of guy." She teased, poking my arm.
"And I didn't know you were the old school type of girl." I poked her back.
"Well there you go! Progress!" She hollered, pumping my fist in the air. She gained a few annoyed glares from the people around us. "Can we stop now?" She lowered her head, pleading.
I stared at her, confused. What was her problem? It was like she didn't want to know me and she didn't want me to know her.
I narrowed my eyes at her, getting angrier by the second. "Why are you so set on us not to getting to know each other?" I half spat at her. I didn't mean to be so harsh, but this feeling was bugging me.
"Oh no... No, no..." she spluttered, shaking her head violently. She locked eyes with me, and I could see it. The flash of regret in her eyes. The look that told me everything. She immediately averted her eyes. "Oh trust me, Chris... It's not what you thi-"
"Do you not like me?" I asked. I was taken aback from how childish I sounded. I roamed her face, looking for an answer. But I already knew what the answer was. Acacia wasn't moving. Her mouth was open but no words came out. Another flash of regret flitted across her features and I balled my hands into fists.
"Ch-Chris... I... Of co-"
"Or have these just been pity dates to you?"
Her mouth opened straight away to reply but I beat her to it.
"Just save it." I finalised, dashing my napkin on the table. I didn't want her to lie, so I'd rather her not say anything at all. I couldn't help but feel frustrated with her, I didn't mean it... I really didn't mean it...
When she sent me a dangerous glare, I knew she was equally as furious.
"Well maybe if you could just let me get a word in, I-"
"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what you were going to say next." I hissed.
By the look on her face, I knew I had flicked a switch.
"Stop thinking I'm so predictable, just like the other girls you always have under your arm!" She exploded. Her arms flailed up in the air. So that's why she didn't like me... She thought I was a player?
"What kind of man do you take me for?" I demanded, exasperated.
"That's just it, Chris. You're not a man, you're just a little boy," she yanked her napkin and threw it on the table, standing up. Was she really going to leave? "Give me a call when you grow up." And with that, she walked out of the restaurant.
Long after she left, all the anger had deflated and turned into nothingness. I had been sitting there, staring at my hands for what felt like hours. I had made a horrible mistake by arguing with her. But I made an even worse mistake by not stopping her from leaving.
I wasn't a player, I'd never cheated on a girl in my life. I've never intentionally done bad things to a girl before in my life.
What have I done?
-------------------------
Hey so guys I thought that you should know Chris's POV (point of view) in the argument!
